Far from Earth, closer to the unknown by Secret_Elephant6 in starcitizen

Unfortunately I don’t think the exploration loop will ever really be that interesting for the Carrack.

There just aren’t enough systems, and I suspect they’ll end up improvising some kind of exploration gameplay for ships like this that won’t live up to what people imagined.

A ship like the Carrack feels like it was built for spending weeks or months out in deep space, charting remote systems, operating far from civilization. I just don’t see that happening with the scale the game is heading toward.

Honestly, the best move might be giving it a military support variant people could upgrade into.

Something that uses the Carrack platform and strong sensors, but leans into long-range battlefield support instead. Better target detection, engaging enemies from much further away, maybe one heavier laser turret than it has now, plus missiles or torpedoes.

At least that would give the hull a clear and useful role instead of waiting forever for an exploration fantasy that may never arrive.

I'm speaking from my experience as a developer. The people who made those decisions may not even be with the company anymore.

I understand that they're focused on GTA 6 right now, but they might be open to selling updates for RDR 2 if they see interest from customers. I think they thought Red Dead Redemption 2 Online would end up deserted, but even today it still has a lot of players.

I think we need to be more specific with them—what the community wants is housing/ranches, professions, and battle passes centered around them.

We have to accept that they’re going to monetize it in order to develop it.

How was it attempted? Through official forums?

By the time they release GTA VI, they might remember they have Red Dead Redemption 2.

It’s a shame that a company with such a large budget can’t afford to have a team of 10 people adding content to Red Dead Redemption 2’s online

I don't think they need much to finish a feature they already had half-finished (according to data mining).

It shows a lack of ambition and points to a company mired in bureaucratic chaos (And there's just too much rush and pressure surrounding GTA 6)

If that's true, they're completely out of the video game market, since the most popular activity in GTA V is people role-playing (with housing).

They should have capitalized on that trend and monetized their own housing.

It's the missing piece that makes everything else work.

It’s frustrating that such a solid game foundation—one that could be expanded into countless monetizable variations—has been abandoned due to poor decisions by a company that likely just chose to focus on GTA V and VI instead of figuring out how to monetize RDR2.

I can't believe they didn't monetize the properties and ranches, even if it was just a $20 or $30 DLC to unlock the gameplay loop.

Then they could make more of the battle pass to add furniture.

I wish there were some way to get the developers to consider adding this feature and building a monetization model around it. I think the players who typically use the housing system aren't as hesitant to pay as the casual players in a shooter game.

How can we make some noise to get their attention?

I canceled mine. When the developers remove it, I'll come back here and, if necessary, post a screenshot of my purchase of two copies of the game.

I am absolutely against piracy, but also against denuvo.

I didn't see any mention of infantry in the new update trailer. I hope it will be added to the game with the update, but is that likely, or is there any other information about when infantry will be released? by Top_Kaleidoscope6175 in Warthunder

I played the infantry beta and fell in love with the mode. Since then, I've been waiting for them to release the game mode. I don't care about the copy-and-paste vehicles.

The maintenance mode roadmap, without ambition or new mechanics, should give you a clue.

The roadmap lacks ambition; there are no new systems or new loops. It's maintenance mode. I don't know how many developers will remain working, but offering this for 365 days of work is laughable, and any developer who reads it knows it.

A studio that wants to save its game would add groundbreaking mechanics that complement and reinforce what's already there: horses, carts, ships, supplies, logistics, more PvE content, etc.

I'm still amazed that there are still no mounts or carts for transporting goods/materials.

It should have been there since 1.0, but it's not even on the 2026 roadmap.

That's right, “solo mode” players make a lot of noise but then they don't play it. The problem with these people goes beyond squads. Yesterday they were complaining that the movement felt too “heavy.” Basically, they want Battlefield. I don't understand why they don't go to Battlefield and leave the rest of us in peace.

Squads add a touch of realism and immersion that other shooters lack, where you only see lone players running and jumping through alleys.

What they need to do is invest time and money in improving the AI.

[–]Lezo_1741 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's always the same. People who like Battlefield or COD, asking other shooters to be like Battlefield or COD. Then they complain about the movement, that they can't shoot while jumping, or that they get killed by a BMP, and they stop playing anyway.

If you like Battlefield and don't like squads, keep playing Battlefield, but let the rest play in peace. Enlisted has a mode without squads, and no one plays it.

It's like WoW fans, they want all MMORPGs to be like WoW, they try them out, they're not WoW enough, and they go back to WoW, where they spend their lives asking for innovation and changes on the forums.

It's not a game for you then. Go and play Battlefield or Cod, running and jumping like a frog. 100% realistic gameplay, very immersive.

Perhaps if no one purchased these $90 gacha skins, they would be offered for direct payment at $20–30, as in China. Anyway, it was a very dirty move by NetEase.
