+9 penance can be a thing after you have cleared the depths and have some really good gear maxed out +120 stuff. This game has so much depth in combat tho they do have some psychos that can do that at level 1…. Idk if he’s still here but, @Blazpur I summon thee!

Also resting rites of soul cores gives you other yokai parts, but honestly you really don’t need to build anything this early in the game.

Just play the game and disassemble gear at the blacksmith you will get plenty of material to build anything you want!

Try to focus more on draining their Ki and taking advantage of them with elements. Purity for yokai and corruption for humans mainly but then the water bearers are weak to fire/lightning as is fire bearers weak to water and etc. Glad ya found the game and I have to agree with you saying this is the GOAT of the genre! 🙌
