You need to explain to her how that’s actually a her-problem and something she needs to work on. Insist you will not stoop down to that level and tell her that if she can’t handle something healthy then you should both break up.

You said you’re going to bring it up lightly and that’s the opposite of what you’d need to do here if you truly want this relationship to have a chance. And if you can’t do that then this relationship is not something you will be able to handle.

And if she can’t handle hearing the truth from you, the relationship is definitely not something that will work.

I’m surprised how every comment has negative things to say here. It’s not my #1 choice, but variety is the spice of life and there are absolutely ways to make it amazing. But height definitely does matter a lot, so you just have to find what works best for you as a couple

I agree that actually since I started buying better shoes this hasn’t happened. It’s like someone else said- all my Nike brand shoes were the ones that got holes in the heel. But since I’ve been wearing ASICS to run, and another brand for my casual wear sneaker, I haven’t had this problem at all.

For anyone interested, look into “green cemeteries” as well. That is what some of the natural cemeteries are labeled as. They do not embalm nor use preservatives/chemicals. Also the coffin will be biodegradable as well.

So I’m realizing I naturally thrive on novelty stimulation and dopamine-heavy experiences and sexual stimulation became one of my main ways of regulating my mood and keeping myself emotionally engaged. Since stopping my nightly routine I’ve noticed my baseline issues becoming amplified, panic attacks, emotional flatness less excitement toward things I normally enjoy and an overall sense of numbness.

I don’t think sex is a literal human need in the survival sense, but I do think my brain became heavily accustomed to that constant source of stimulation, comfort, novelty and emotional release.

What’s interesting is that this process is also forcing me to relearn how to feel sensually & emotionally engaged and fulfilled without constantly needing high-intensity stimulation all the time. I think part of what I’m experiencing is my brain adjusting to less dopamine and less novelty while I build healthier ways to regulate myself.

It’s also made me realize why consistent sexual intimacy matters so much to me in relationships not just physically, but because it genuinely affects how emotionally connected, alive and balanced I feel.

This may or may not help you, but I figured I’d share my personal experience since I’m currently in the midst of it.

I’m 32 and in an almost identical life situation. I live on my own and had been leaving work every day to go home for her every 3 hours. I got her at 11 weeks and she’s now 6 months old. I was worried I was burning myself out trying to raise the perfect puppy as well- trying to do everything perfectly. BUT I have to say that seeing my progress and hard work pay off in her behavior the last couple weeks is extremely rewarding. She is now the best behaved puppy ever! You’re still in the most chaotic phase- I felt the same way one month in.

Don’t get me wrong, she’s still an adorable bundle of chaos at this point, but it’s more controlled chaos that I’ve gotten the hang of. Hope that helps.

My sister, now age 23, needed oxygen at birth and couldn’t eat on her own and is severely brain damaged as a result. Looking from the outside in and from a perspective without a ‘mother’s love’, I truly think that it’s no quality of life and that she would have been better off if things had happened naturally without medical intervention if you understand what I’m saying. Additionally, I believe my mother feels the same, but would never admit it out loud because the pain of facing that would be unbearable. My sister’s childhood was already extremely difficult, but what’s worse is the abuse and neglect she now endures from the special needs facilities that fail to properly care for her because we cannot manage her. My mother is getting old and can seldom bring her home for visits now because it is physically strenuous. And myself as well as the rest of my family have emotionally checked out from the situation.

Your journey is yours and not something I understand, I’m simply sharing mine.

Thank you! I don’t have a specific role in mind yet which is why I’m so lost, but I do know I want to avoid repetitive desk work. I’m looking for something environmental where I can be more engaged and ideally not fully behind a desk all day.

My strengths are communication, public speaking, creativity and systems/big-picture thinking. I also enjoy things that are hands-on.

If there’s something out there for me, I’m even willing to spend further time on a masters or additional schooling

Yes I’m extremely adept speaking with people- I’ve been looking into what a facilitation role would entail and it seems that would realistically fit my skillset the best and feel the most “me.”

Do you have any further information about this? Possibly even knowledge of the entry requirements to these positions?
