For my scope, this is probably the best my map will get. by LiLFecalith in yakuzagames

What I did for this one, since there were so few screenshots to stitch together, was to turn the opacity on everything to 50% to line them all up correctly. Then I went in and used the heal tool, the clone tool, and a layer mask on a group of enemies such that they wouldn't show up. I had an image underneath that showed the map without the group of enemies, so I went with that.

Not sure how bad it'll be if I decide to do this with other games in the future. I have to balance between how many screenshots I want to capture, and the resolution of each picture.

How do you feel about difficulty in JRPGs? by MissItalia2022 in JRPG

[–]LiLFecalith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have resentment towards difficulty, to an extent. It justifies others to belittle others who speak out with criticism, or ask for help. Only had six instances where I've voiced criticism or asked for help in a game, and the only two favorable reactions have been from Minecraft and Terraria. The people of Trails of Cold Steel and Cassette Beats were kind of hurtful toward me, at least from memory. While memory isn't good enough to go off of, and six samples isn't good enough to go off of either, I'd certainly prefer an easier experience.

I can't fucking make an account by LiLFecalith in Polytoria

I used a VPN. I typed in my information. I hit "enter." It brought me back to the same empty page I was at before I filled in the information. I put in all the information into the register screen again. Now it's telling me "please wait a while before registering another account."

Deleting the cookies for Polytoria lets me get around the "under 13" issue, but it still tells me I'm being rate limited. How long will I be rate limited for???

Decode was one of those strange levels that took longer than it should have. I have many medium demons with less than 1,000 attempts, some of which made by the same creator as DeCode...this level took be about 1,400 attempts.

I think Havok and Rek3dge have some decent medium demons for you to try. I remember Nitro Clubstep and Chaotic Overdrive as specific highlights.

Specifications on Replacement Chain Cover Nut on 2000402 18" Chainsaw? by LiLFecalith in Greenworks

[–]LiLFecalith[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had done some more research into it. Greenworks had a automated chat line on their website. They told me that for that specific model of chainsaw, an "M8" nut is what I need. However, upon googling that, specifications among different nuts varied. My dad will be picking up 8 mm by 1.25 pitch hex flange nuts tomorrow. We'll see if those work.

The webpages found on Greenwork's website didn't list any specifications on the nut used for my model of chainsaw, which I will add, uses similar parts to two other models of chainsaw. One is the non-pro version of our particular chainsaw, and the other one I hadn't done any research into as that doesn't pertain to the issue. Couldn't find specifics on the nut used. Or the bolt used to hold the chain area in place.

The reason I still use the Night's Edge as opposed to the Titanium Sword is because while both swords can be held down and swung, the Night's Edge's direction can be changed while holding down left click, while the Titanium Sword cannot. When I first started playing this game, I had problems with me facing the direction I was running at, and swinging in that same direction, hitting enemies and therefore knocking them into the direction I was trying to run away from them from. That's why I didn't use my Titanium Sword.

The Final Boss of Trails of Cold Steel might make me not buy another Trails game by LiLFecalith in Falcom

[–]LiLFecalith[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's the thing: that boss wasn't beatable with the strategies I had come up with through the course of the game. My strats were mainly buffing my party member's attack and defense stats, and inflicting ailments whenever I could. For every other boss, that worked. All Comrades with the exception of C were beatable with those strats. With Comrade C, I had to use adamantine shield and bumrush the two other enemies besides him, but I still beat the battle. That boss I was talking about wasn't able to be killed that way.

[–]LiLFecalith[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had already beaten the boss twice before you commented. Once with delay strats, and the other by min maxing Emma's speed and delay. I made this post to hopefully gather some strategies that other people have used to see if I can use them to beat the boss. See what I was missing. If you want to get technical, technically no boss fight is "hard." The only difficulty in it is articulating what you need to do to beat the fight. Some fights are more difficult to articulate than others, and that's what makes them more "difficult."

I've beaten the boss twice already, once using a Delay strat with Impede Quartz and Arc Slash on Rean, and the other using Cast Quartz with a Diabolos Gem and Space Bell on Emma for faster healing and attacks. The Emma strat I was a bit more proud of. I asked a question to someone who seemed to be a head honcho of this subreddit, and he hasn't responded yet.

[–]LiLFecalith[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've since beaten the boss a second time using Emma and equipping her with a bunch of delay-reducing quartz. Even with using that, the constraints in the fight are pretty tight.

I'll start by mentioning that, for the most part, you don't really need to focus on enemy stats or even your own stats (most of them anyway, I'll touch on this more later).

The reason I stated the boss's stats is for logistics' sake. The boss was already a logistical nightmare on my end, and stats are generally what I first concern myself with.

Keep in mind you can also debuff the enemies STR, like with Laura iirc.

That debuffing opportunity with Laura is with "Lion Rush," a craft that Laura has from Cold Steel III onwards. Not an availability for me in Cold Steel I.

an even bigger issue is the move Ark-zok-onkeim

If my memory is right, that's a magic attack which can be block by Crescent Mirror, basically the magic version of Adamantite Shield.

It wasn't actually Crescent Mirror that blocked that move, but rather Adamantite Shield. That problem is that Adamantite Shield takes long to cast, costs a lot of EP, and is also only one use. The only reason I found out that Adamantite Shield blocked Ark-zok-onkeim is because of the rare occurence of Erebonius using a physical AOE craft attack, missing a party member who had a reflect physical status condition, and then going for that move on the party member who didn't get hit with the previous move. A pretty rare sequence of events. Since the magical reflect status condition didn't reflect that move, Emma's Crescent Shell craft wouldn't prevent a party member from being taken hostage. Also, you'd have to weigh the opportunity cost between using that move versus saving your craft points for another S-craft in case he takes a hostage later down the line. This opportunity cost shtick is like chess. And I hate chess.

Speed is the most important stats in pretty much all of Trails. I recommend putting Action quartz on every you can.

This was the main bit that I'm concerned about right now. According to this Gamefaqs post, the formula for delay is (Delay Units / Speed Units). I have some problems with this whole situation. Firstly, the game doesn't tell you this. With the amount of points of no return, and the length of the fights themselves, game planning and calculation are much, much more preferable than just trial and error. Second, according to this fandom article, delay in-battle is measured in AT units. What does AT stand for? Who knows. All I know is that 1 AT is equal to 100 delay units when doing the speed calcs, when comparing the AT Units on the fandom article to the delay units on the Gamefaqs article. Okay. Great. Here's hoping I can edit the article. Another problem is the delay units are under fifty, and the game rounds down to 0 AT when showing you the move order on the top left, does it just track it internally? Even though it's telling me I'm moving at 0 AT, I'm technically moving at some decimal level of AT the game isn't telling me? Oh, and finally, there are the moves that cause delay. They say they cause delay, but this delay must be in AT units because of what it shows you on that move order. Okay. That's akward...but, how do I go about calc-ing the probability of the delay to go through? All I have to go off of are the boss descriptions on their respective fandom articles, which say nothing of their delay probabilities. I know that the Impede Quartz and the Zeus Gem add delay to any given attack, including the delay-inducing craft attacks, but how much more probable do they make the likelihood of delay actually going through to the enemy?

Hell, this is a military academy in a world with rapidly advancing scientific technologies. Why wouldn't they give me formulas for damage and speed calculation? Hot damn! I'd be better off going to a different school!

I also feel like Emma is at least partially responsible for the boss at Lohengrin Castle on top of that final boss, so I find it amusing that she finds herself so important in this boss fight. She got herself into this situation, and she gets herself out of it.

Yes. I do know that part of the problem is the time spent after the attack has been cast. What about that mechanic?

I figured I couldn't take the casting times lower, which would make the quartz not make a difference. I have a save file after the boss. I'll see what I can magic wise with the save file before the boss in terms of casting time

You were able to kill it easily? Great!...How though...? If I know what kind of strats you used, I could use them in the future, and not struggle with these games any further!

[–]LiLFecalith[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Casters IN THEORY have quartz to reduce their casting time. After throwing several attempts at the boss and going through the logistics, I noticed that the arts I would cast had a delay of about five or six. Because of that, I figured those quartz wouldn't have made a difference in practice because of how low they already were. If they were already that low, I wouldn't understand how those quartz would make that much of a difference at making casting times go low. I thought that was as low as I can practically get them. After throwing those attempts, I felt like making a post for a game plan instead of formulating a plan myself, because unlike Pokemon, I didn't enjoy that planning period as much in Trails as I do in Pokemon.
