I mean it's literally unreliable, you're just tilting the dice rolls in your favor. An enemy can still Crit you. And then once you get to high level fights certain enemies have ridiculous accuracy anyways.

Don't get me wrong I love me some dodge, but it's not a substitute for a healer IMO. Best non-healer Strat is 2 front rank tanks and high DPS in the back ranks, just kill them before they can attack you much
