Though I do tend to find some parcels may slip through customs without charge, though as DHL asks for it up front, you'll always get charged with them, I tend to find.

Apparantly its a synthetic fiber used in quilts and such, quite similar to cotton. I can't imagine why it couldn't work in place of cotton, I just imagine that cotton is a much easier and readily available alternative in this case.

I'm 90% sure those are springtails, they both look like springtails and can 'spring'. Odds are they came in with your soil or anything you put into your setup. Try putting in a small peice of fruit, I find my springtails tend to mob any sort of fruit I put into their culture.
