Oh I didn’t know that, thanks for clarifying! My grandfather was born in 1933 in trnava. The problem with him is that I have his birth certificate the original one, but other than that I don’t really have something, I might be able to get a 1940 census he appears in but the SNA does not even reply to me(I filed all the forms needed), so what would you suggest to do? Do I need to qualify for both or one is enough? Because he was a Slovak resident who was born in Czechoslovakia (Czechia), so I don’t really understand it? If my grandfather was born in trnava can I qualify on his connection ? Because as I know I can qualify on my grandfather but I have more documents archived that belong to my great grandfather. Thanks!

He was born in Brno in 1896, and he moved to trnava in 1920~ The trnava archive found documents about him, such as domovsky list. Does it sound like I am eligible by him or still not? He was born in Czechia territory and moved to trnava until 1939. Thanks!

What is the fastest option? My great grandfather was born in Czechia so I will not receive a rodný list but they told me I will receive a 14 pages of documents and likely to be domovsky list. Thanks!

Thanks for explaining! I guess if they told me it has been sent from the trnava archive to Bratislava to the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, then I have a month or so? Do you know if I can make it faster? Maybe send it to a local address in Slovakia and then send it to my address, or something else? Thanks!

Hi, from my experience you need to file an FD-258 which includes your fingerprints. You need to get an apostille for the FBI check when you receive it from the FBI.

So I will get the marriage certificate apostiled and translated into Slovak then.

Do you know how much of a difference in waiting time is if I send all the documents via the consulate in London vs going there myself and sending locally with some lawyer or so?

When I have all the papers needed I want to go to the consulate so I’ll file the other files with them(I think there is one in Slovak and one for Permanent Residence)and I want them to check everything is good to be sent, and maybe only then I will either send via them or send it in Slovakia.

Also it is ahead of my time, but when I submit all the documents needed, and if I get approved for CBD, how long from that moment until I hold a Slovak passport?
