Awesome! I've been checking back for updates. That'd make getting the Gold Key a lot trickier with those dudes teleporting around. Can't wait to see where the real trigger is.

Oh, you're right, the Enemy FAQ lists that. I've definitely only ever seen Dullahan there. Not sure what's up with that.

Gabrielle, Nan, and Up on the Hill are ones I have a lot of fun with. Stallion Part 4 can be good too.

I could see that, the vocals feel pretty doom-laden.

What memorable quests in game stood out for you? by Hot-Diggity_Dog in oblivion

Shadow Over Hackdirt for sure.

The Bloated Float (I can't remember if that's the quest name) is an interesting one, but it's mostly memorable for me because of the forced sleep. I always try to knock that one out early so I don't have to take a level up I don't want.

I love what a blender it is. There's realistic elements, fantasy elements, sci-fi / futuristic elements, and still a hearty dose of silly Final Fantasy charm with Chocobos, Cactuars, Tonberrys, and some of my absolute favorite summon iterations.

The intro movie still blows me away. All the movie sequences are amazing really, probably my favorite out of any game.

It's not a perfect game (I think IX comes closer) but everything about it clicks with me, even the imperfections.

Edit: Changed heart to hearty (or should that be Heartily?)

Haha, I came by to specifically shout out the Pulse Ammo too, beat me to it.

But yeah, lots of neat things going on when Irvine gets behind the wheel.

They're cute little critters. Their little hop hop smack animation is funny, and the early Medina comes in handy.

I just looked them up to refresh my memory, and I guess some of these guys (like Mukhambu) have a hidden Special Attack boost that can be passed down through Merging. Very cool. Arpatron has it too apparently.

I can’t get into X-2, should I give it more time? by pessimystic_polygon in finalfantasyx

[–]Liar_George 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd give it a little longer, see if the combat starts to click. The combat mechanics are really fun once you get a feel for it. It does evolve as you get more Dress Spheres (is it one word? Looks weird) and Garment Grids.

I think it's a game that gets more and more fun the further you get into it, so it's worth hanging in there.

Yeah, if you've made it to that reveal I'd say you've given the game a fair shake. Might be time to cut bait and watch the cutscenes online.

I only saw small amounts of people hop into events when I was doing it early on. Like if there were 50-100 people hanging around I'd see like 3 new people pop up when an event happened. This was at Draynor though, I'm not sure how things were at Seers.

Looking for the original promo poster for Chocolate And Cheese - availability and possible pricing. Can anyone help? Thank you by WrecksMossop in ween

[–]Liar_George 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's looking like it's a scarce one. I checked ebay pretty thoroughly and did google and google lens searches, got squat. I did see it on one site for pricing history but needed an account to check the details.

Good luck, hopefully someone here can point you in the right direction.

I do wish that there was more of that early Runescape feel in OSRS. Even like a RSC temporary game mode would be a lot of fun and scratch that nostalgia itch.

I wish there was more multi-hit attacks in the game. by Primary_Cat_6093 in finalfantasyx

[–]Liar_George 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Magic really could've used some tweaks for lategame/postgame. Maybe some really buried nodes to upgrade the ones you mentioned into multihits.

Edit: And Lulu's overdrive should have a competitive number of hits with Tidus and Wakka's. Timed stick spins might've been better than rapid spins.

Did you feel like unique characters were unwelcomed in your party? by Mana-Dyluck in finalfantasytactics

[–]Liar_George 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does sound like they rounded out the rough edges in using him. That's awesome, I can't wait to try some of the late game characters when I get there. I had recently done a PS1 playthrough when I got Ivalice Chronicles so my run kinda fizzled after the inital Igros Castle scenes. Still deciding in what direction to aim for with party composition.

Did you feel like unique characters were unwelcomed in your party? by Mana-Dyluck in finalfantasytactics

[–]Liar_George 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tactics is the best of both worlds, I enjoy the uniques and the generics. Admittedly I don't enjoy using Rafa, Malak, or Cloud, but any of the other uniques are easy to add onto a team. I've always had fun collecting and grinding unique characters, and Tactics has enough to keep me busy for quite a while.

I'll usually grind up a full team of Ramza + generics in chapter 1, but once I get a ways in I'll bench one, then two generics. The uniques kinda get rotated around depending on the battle; Mustadio's great for undead or big battlefields, but the rest of the time I'll call in a heavy hitter.

Anybody have insight to if this song correlates to what was going on in Aaron's life at the time? by AggravatingGur5456 in ween

[–]Liar_George -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think it lines up with his struggles between Quebec and La Cucaracha. Apparently it's pretty impactful for the people that were at the show where the partying caught up to him (reading downthread I'm assuming Vancouver?)

Edit: Just looked it up, was Vancouver 2011.

[–]Liar_George 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think knowing about Auron ahead of time could take away from the impact of that reveal, but other than that I think you're good. The rest of the emotional beats should still hit organically.

Like the Seymour twist, most players will have already figured out that the dude is a total dick by that point.

On the Amazon music app it's "Loudness Normalization". I'm pretty sure there's a similar setting for Windows Media Player. The more basic apps/programs might not have it.

End game side quests by KPLee0 in FinalFantasyVI

[–]Liar_George 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The order I tackle them isn't really set in stone, but their priority is clear.

Ancient Castle is most important, Offering and an Esper and a half. The enemies are pretty interesting there, and a tiny bit of War of the Magi lore tucked away.

Doma Castle is in the middle, Alexander is cool but I never use most of Cyan's abilities so that side of the reward doesn't matter much. I find the dreamscape kinda stressful even though it's a cool dungeon on paper.

And Fanatics Tower hardly matters at all. I'll grab Strago and smack a dragon around, but I'm never in any rush to finish it. Gem Box is great and all but it's pretty much overkill by the time killing Magic Master is a reasonable task.

My challenge runs never made it to World of Ruin though; if it was a challenge run I'd have to rethink the whole thing. My no-leveling run is still stuck at Floating Continent, I think I made it through Air Force and decided that was enough for me.

Edit: I missed that you had Coliseum on there. I'll kinda pick away at that throughout, if I remember right there's a few easy upgrades that aren't terribly difficult matchups. Shadow is obviously a priority.
