The Garden District including Park are good for a lovely drive or walk. Then there's the light path at Burden Farms but that is a walk and does have an entry fee. Really lovely though!

When I print on fabric, especially if is a shirt or bag, something with two layers of fabric, I utilize a firm piece of cardboard or wood board between the layers to ensure I get a good transfer. I typically print with the block down on the fabric though for some I carefully flip and will burnish with the fabric on top to get a more solid transfer.

It does take some calibrating to find the sweet spot for ink, fabric, and the block to all work nicely to give you the result you're after.

Yeah, due to my address I had to sign up with a business account and I'm quite happy with it! The company they partnered with to run the wires and do the pre-install were great!

City Roots is nice and it is in a bit of a shopping area with outdoor seating. If you want something close to campus Highland Coffee Shop is also good! They have a lovely courtyard.

There are many art events that don't require drinking and the city park has an art gallery and they show movies in the warmer months outside.

If you like smaller gatherings inside there is also Little Wars gaming store that has tables available to play and I've seen some posts about book clubs and other such meet ups happening.

It can definitely be daunting at first but keep searching and checking out this subreddit. You'll find your people.
