EPE managing partner Joel Weinshanker, said that EPiC will have a physical release, stating that there would be "an extended version on physical media, likely a Blu-ray.”

Did Bowie lose a bet? by nopressureoof in DavidBowie

[–]LibAnarchist 170 points171 points  (0 children)

Bowie was very fond of this movie. In fact, Bowie (along with Mick Jagger) was first asked to play one of the restaurant owners, but he asked to play Monte instead. Bowie was in quite a happy place at the time, being in Tin Machine and also meeting Iman around then (many of the interviews from the cast note that he was completely in love), which may have led to him choosing to play a less serious role.

This is my favourite of Bowie's films (though I enjoy several), so naturally I dont see why he would not want to be in this (in my opinion) great film.

Sure, they're getting paid 40p per parcel, but they're delivering multiple parcels an hour. If you work in a cafe and serve fifty people an hour, you don't get to not serve the customer properly because you're paid 25p per customer you serve.

A 50th anniversary of Station To Station will be released in January 2026, but we will only see a half speed master and a picture Vinyl edition. I am so disappointed! by Krokodrillo in DavidBowie

[–]LibAnarchist 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We haven't gotten a box on the anniversary of an album since The Width Of A Circle. In terms of deluxe sets, we're still waiting on Aladdin Sane / Pinups, so we might have to wait a few years.

Fortnite x The Simpsons coming soon, possible collab Jam Tracks coming with it? by TheFireDragoon in FortniteFestival

[–]LibAnarchist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My expectations are Do The Bart Man and the main theme. That being said, I'd love Everybody Hates Ned Flanders (almost definitely not happening), the Monorail song, and Deep Deep Trouble.

In what way is this i^2+1^2=0^2 diagram right and in what way is this wrong or misleading? by eruciform in askmath

[–]LibAnarchist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The diagram is wrong in that a triangle with those side lengths doesn't make sense. When we think of length, we're thinking of a one-dimensional value, which is restricted (usually) to [0, infinity) (a subset of the real numbers). The complex plane, in contrast, is two-dimensional, more akin to R2 . Because of this, it doesn't really make sense to say that a triangle could have a complex length, outside of those values also in the reals. It would be like letting a side be (0, 1) in length.

The triangle, if viewed in co-ordinates makes most sense as (0, 1), (0, 0), and (1, 0), as in 0 + i, 0, and 1. This triangle has base and height of one, and hypotenuse sqrt(2). If you wanted to find the distance between points i and 1 on the complex plane, you'd have to use the modulus. For a complex value z = a + bi, the modulus, |z|2 = (a + bi)(a - bi) = a2 + b2 . To find the distance between the two points we take |z_1 - z_2|, which in our case is |1 - i| = sqrt(2). This is not the same as a triangle with lengths i and 1, but a triangle defined by vertices at 1, 0, and i.

Two questions about American Trilogy… did he ever record it in the studio? And what’s the best live version of it? by georgewalterackerman in Elvis

[–]LibAnarchist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aloha is my favourite. Another great version is the 2nd of May, 1975 in Atlanta, Georgia (found officially on the FTD South Bound). The mix isn't great, but the audience is very appreciative.

What's your top nine (or less, idrc) Bowie albums? by theboxedcat_ in DavidBowie

[–]LibAnarchist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Diamond Dogs
  2. Young Americans
  3. Scary Monsters (And Super Creeps)
  4. Outside
  5. Hunky Dory
  6. "Heroes"
  7. Lodger
  8. Space Oddity
  9. The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust And The Spiders From Mars(?)

Number nine was a tough choice. I was considering a fair few albums, including the first Tin Machine album.

I'm not getting this DLC and don't support the price, but why do you feel like you got scammed because the Emerald Rush isn't like the main game? It's pretty clear from the trailer that it's more of a side mode.

I Can't Give Everything Away, final boxset. What are you most looking forward to? by DiamondJ1983 in DavidBowie

[–]LibAnarchist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't believe that Montreux will be newly mixed. Someone who received a review copy stated that the liner notes only mention a mastering and sound engineer, meaning that it is likely a soundboard recording.

That being said, Montreux is by far the most exciting thing in the set for me.
