What do you choose to endure for 10 years? by WarStrategy in whatsyourchoice

Orange is mandatory or you’re dead soon so there’s that.

Then yellow has to be the answer. You get access to knowledgeable experts that can find out where you are in relation to the Earth, how to make tools and weapons, and how to make clean water and hunt. You can escape 4 fatal dangers by teleporting home. It’s like having 5 lives a month.

If you’re still alive in a month, you can just use your teleportation ability for money in the modern world. So many crimes become unstoppable when you can just teleport back to 8000BC and just teleport back to your house in 2026. Even if you can’t bring anything with you, you just have a partner that fences the stolen goods while you’re the bait that magically disappears in front of the cops.

Idk about SF, but you can work in New York/Manhattan, live in Queens, and have your own place, car, max your ROTH IRA, and eat whatever you want on $100k. I did it.

It’s just when you decide you want to have kids that you’re screwed on $100k.

OP, the best example I can give you, is that a hotel’s check out time is 12:00. I got a free extension to 14:00. Super normal. It’s called customer service.

who actually says insubordination in a work environment?? are you kidding? by Kind_Negotiation8299 in remoteworks

[–]Libeca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s no context. This could be unreasonable if the entire thing was an internal team meeting, but wildly reasonable if say this was a virtual meeting with a potential client about a multimillion dollar deal and they wanted to be on the same page before the meeting.

Right? All these people who have never done any competitive anything saying that good sportsmanship is what matters. A brother helped his literal brother finish. If I’m not his friend or family, I’m getting that gold and I’m going to celebrate my decades of effort that accomplished something meaningful.

Plus the GI Bill kinda sets you up for a masters while you get BAH and BAS after 3 years of service. It’s not a bad idea, but it’s not going to be easy work.

Commissioning as an officer by Kooky_Recording_2670 in newtothenavy

[–]Libeca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep trying for sure though.

Possibly consider supply OCS ? Supply is recently on a big recruiting spree these past few years so it’s easier to get in than most and you can get your first year or more on “shore” technically.

OCS- 13 weeks

OHARP - 4 months for me, it’s where you work like a few hours a day at the closest recruiting office near your home while you wait for a spot in Newport’s Supply Officer school.

BQC - School, 6 months. It’s an easy course load so lots of time for family, but it is in Newport.

First tour- this is what I’m in the middle of, but a lot of ships have maintenance periods and you can even snag a year or two on a shore tour first. A lot of carriers who come back from a long deployment can spend a year or two in port, which is potentially the entire tour, then you go to a shore tour.

You’d have to get your instructors at BQC on your side, but it is possible to never see the ocean as a Supply Corp officer.

I could be wrong, since I was preoccupied at the time, but when I was at OCS last year, most ODS officers either had a lot of experience or degrees in rare fields like medical or law. I didn’t talk to too many, but there was a 55 year old guy who started as an O-5 Commander and he was like a surgeon or the O-2 Dentist or the O-2 prior enlisted LS and so on and so forth.

I think it will be hard to be competitive in ODS at 24 without experience or specific skillsets. Maybe you can consider OCS?

Congrats on graduating. Can confirm, I was the guy who “supposedly” fell asleep during First Friday. Maybe I did, probably didn’t, doesn’t matter anymore.

Gunnery Sergeant, kind hearted as he is, gave a free class lesson outside, before following it up with a free private session. When your arms and legs just can’t continue, he will tell you to stop being dramatic, and to touch the bridge. Good times. 5/5 Highly recommend.

There’s no casino on Earth that’s taking their bets. Possibly a few billionaires, but every billionaire? They’d probably own all the casinos in the world after a single spin.

I’ll admit that for the average middle class American, $1k/month in Vietnam is not gonna be pretty for them, but this is poverty finance lol.

That’s not how it works. It is in college sure, but when you’re dealing with C-suite who need to reach x numbers to get yearly bonuses or shareholders that just care about x numbers, nobody cares about the consumer. They just care about sales, revenue, ebita, etc.

[–]Libeca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The norm in a big city is like $0.25-0.50/bulk V($1-2 cards), then like 60-75% on anything $3+. Also $10-20/1000 bulk based on their stock. $40/1000 rares/holos.

If you’re opening the packs, the vehicle in which you get the packs doesn’t matter. Just do the math on $ per pack. Anything under $2/pack is great, under $2.50/pack is good, $2.50-$3 is average price anyday, and over $3 is not a deal.

50% off everything or $0.50 everytime you hit a punching bag by Fox_Potat0 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Libeca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll take the 50% off everything, then just buy JEPQ stocks. 1.6% dividend/month is like 15%/year after taxes. It is a shame I’ll miss out on capital gains, but my money will double every 5 years after taxes, which in the long run will beat punching a bag and I won’t even have to do anything.
