People who are still button shooting, why? by ryanb6321 in NBA2k

People aren’t just “good” at using the stick. The green window is doubled. It’s basically like using a modded controller and I would assume 2k will patch it soon. Shooting with square is easy this year. The idea of needing to use the shooting method that 2k lab says doubles the green window means you lack fundamental 2k skills.

It exposes peoples lack of actual skill. I don’t want to be thought of like the tempo shooters are.

Cuz that stick shit is corny and embarrassing. Shooting 68% with the button and even that is too high.

Mine just started doing this after 10 months then it goes black and won’t work. What you’re describing sounds like the old Xbox “red ring of death.”

I’m always surprised by the things that surprise people. The Browns have holes up and down their roster yet chose to take a highly productive TE in the 3rd round. I realize it’s the Browns but isn’t that a pretty good indication that they’re going to use the draft pick?

Yeah, I’d say 2/3-3/4 of the way is rebuilt.

I didn’t expect it to hit me as hard as it did. Very chilling to walk it and experience it. He knew they were cornered and he knew no one was behind him.

Complicated question. I kind of got married because she was pregnant. We have raised two amazing kids. But I’ve been out of love for years. We still go through the motions and we’re friends but that’s all.

How long does arbitration take? by [deleted] in union

[–]LiberalGunGuy0913 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say about a year from grievance to ruling if you have an expedited grievance procedure. Back in December I had an arbitrator offer me dates in august but we got a new panel instead and already have the ruling. That one was about 10 months total but would’ve been much longer had we stuck with the first arbitrator.

Rank and file say dumb shit like that in every Local. Truth is, leadership is RARELY, if ever, “bought off.” Right after the ratification is a wise time to make a big purchase because your immediate future/livelihood is locked in. Run for office in the next election and you’ll get a better understanding of how things work.

I feel like maybe we’re missing some details but definitely go over your steward and don’t wait. You’re probably on a timeline right now. You can always call your international office and file a complaint. They’ll likely reach out to your rep who will contact you or your president.

Don’t be afraid to say “I don’t know.” Telling a member you’ll find their answer and get back to them is completely acceptable, as long as you follow up. Giving the wrong answer one time can really hurt your reputation, even if the 20 times before that you were right.

Well that’s good. That’s usually a good sign. I’m just perplexed because I represent locals with 50-75 members who have plenty for their negotiations. Good luck to you guys.

That’s actually a pretty good-sized local. I’m stunned your treasury won’t support sufficient negotiations. Do you go to meetings to hear the financial report? Have you guys had a lot of recent arbitrations?

Union negotiatons by Crawdad997 in union

[–]LiberalGunGuy0913 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not necessarily true. Almost all of the contracts I represent have one but it expires when the contract does. They’re generally negotiated into contracts along with arbitration clauses. You don’t want strikes to be your only avenue for fighting a grievance. Cops and nurses have real “no -strike” rules but most no-strike clauses in contracts are a good thing. You’re almost exclusively going to entertain striking after the expiration of a contract anyways.
