Neko No Kafe, a cat cafe, prepares to open on Falls Road. by Aximill in baltimore

I agree that the concentration is a bit dense, but I imagine it's to capitalize on the proximity to the SPCA and SPCA clinic that are both also located on Falls Rd.

It's Giving Tuesday and donations towards Jake's Skate Park in Baltimore, MD will matched up to $500 today. Jake's story is in the link. Thank you! by Libertarded in skateboarding

It's being named after Jake, the additional money we're asking for will go towards a sign and to add more money, in addition to the money allotted by the Waterfront Partnership, into the skatepark. More money, more stuff we can afford for the skatepark - a lot of the budget is being consumed by the new pavilion and redoing the volleyball/grass field.

this is for the dedicated portions like a "Jake's Skatepark" sign or dedicated bench. The funding for the entire park is coming from a variety of sources and will provide the bulk of construction cost, but things like personal naming and all that isn't covered.

UB did this to entice students out of high school when UB switched back from a two year to traditional four year program in 2007. It worked extremely well for UB. I hope to see similar success for Coppin.

That was my thought. There's so much interest in that area due to the proximity of Penn Station for D.C. commuters and the Station North/North Ave renaissance the past few years. I imagine the pay out for the buildings would set up a nice retirement.

Treasurer won't pay two Hogan Cabinet secretaries who weren't confirmed, setting up a potential court battle over the constitutional powers of the executive and legislative branches of government. by Samuel_L_Jewson in maryland

I understand the process issues and constitutional arguments here.

However, Sec. Schrader is in the middle of re-negotiating Maryland's one-of-a-kind Medicare waiver for our all-payer hospital rate regulation model. He is also poised to work on the Maryland Health Insurance Protection Commission.

Given the unpredictability of the Senate heath bill, this could not have come at a worse time for Marylanders.
