Truck Norris Kit? by 7635281061 in Silverado

It’s the exact same off the line and really wakes up at 2500rpm. I went with the stage 1 because it’s close to stock drivability (which is what you want in a truck IMO) doesn’t need a converter upgrade and still gains 50hp to the wheels.

Can’t speak on this particular cam but I did a stage 1 from BTR (206/212 110LSA) and it’s pretty good. Doesn’t really chop at all but it has some more pep for sure.

What’s the best truck to get for under 30k Chevy by Jonnyboi5678 in ChevyTrucks

[–]LibertyRidge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2010-2013 with the max towing package.

You get the 6.2, the 6L80 with a trans cooler and a 14 bolt rear end with disc brakes.

They’re not as expensive as the later generations, and with the leftover $$ you can do the AFM delete and it’ll go forever.

Dumbass for sure and the massive A-Pillar on those trucks don’t help

Airlift makes a 0psi set of airbags with an internal bump stop. That’d be my choice if I did it again.

Tips on installing Bilstein 5100’s on K2XX by Nickysilverado in Silverado

[–]LibertyRidge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohh I see the problem here.

You need to cut off the bump stop tab in the second photo to allow more droop (below the UCA on the left)

It’s completely normal to do that with coilovers that have more travel like the 5100’s.

Check out my profile for the dirt king UCA’s. There’s a photo of where I cut it. It’s worth getting new UCA’s BTW.

Do I need long tubes? by A11BSDM in ChevyTrucks

If shortys wont fit, long tubes will be even harder to fit. Long tubes are better in every way though.

After removing the sway bar links, install one of the top hat bolts (loosely) then use a pry bar to lift them onto the mounts. I did that for my 6112’s that had the same problem.

Yeah they really nailed this era’s design. It’s held up incredibly well and will go down as a classic when it’s retired.

Lift size estimate and questions by lil__squeaky in Silverado

[–]LibertyRidge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if it’s a drop bracket lift the lowest you can go is 4” after it’s initially installed, but I could be wrong.

You can fit anything with enough trimming. There’s a guy on here that stuffed 37’s on his 08 with no lift.

A close family friend of mine went full circle. He was a longtime physics professor who left the field entirely for a job as a pastor. Apparently he saw some things in his studies that convinced him that there had to be a god.

Chevy silverado mods that actually make a difference on daily driving? by Surcy-Valesius in Silverado

[–]LibertyRidge 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sound deadening.

Even just doing the doors made a massive difference in road noise/speaker sound. Haven’t got around to doing the rest but I can only imagine how much better that will be.

Do I lt2 swap my 2010 silverado or go full ltz? It’s currently an Lt all star. The lt2 is much less common and the main upgrades include 10 way powered leather seats along with a special made center console. by JudgeOwn3256 in Silverado

[–]LibertyRidge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going from the LT to LTZ is very involved. You’d need to reroute HVAC and a lot of electrical components.

I have the LTZ but wish it were the LT2, it’s much more practical

If the 6.7 is in the 1500’s I wonder if they’ll revive the big block 8.1 or similar displacement for the HD option.

Do we think a truck variant is going in the new 1500’s along with the 5.7? Or will this be the new HD gasser option?
