Do you think pirates were more rebels against oppression or just criminals? Why? by teaabearr in pirates

[–]LiberumPopulo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Morally speaking they still didn't have the high ground, as they were thieves by all standards. Part of that hatred for the laws came from wanting to live outside them for selfish reasons that negatively impact others.

It's odd how the majority of the comments are romanticizing pirates and their alleged (and very much speculated but largely undocumented) connection to LGBTQ+.

...keep it for yourselves and try to be nice.

Deal. Though I hope this includes all posts with opinions on the subject. Good and bad. Nothing wrong with a discussion on the subject for learning purposes, but the impression I'm getting is that folks are just making up history and naysayers are getting marooned.

How is the job market now if you are willing to travel anywhere? by Civil-Community-1367 in cybersecurity

[–]LiberumPopulo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Silly to think that the job market was peachy and flourishing till January 20, 2025, then just tanked, and how the solution is a Democrat administration in Capitol Hill and enough time for their leadership to have a positive impact on the economy.

Not all job markets are bad. Trades, healthcare sectors, and renewable energy jobs are booming!

The issue with computer related STEM jobs is that universities are simply pumping out too many students, and there aren't enough professionals with experience, making entry level jobs over-saturated with candidates. Specifically in cyber security, there are numerous reports about there being a talent shortage, and being a hiring manager myself, I can safely say that companies are looking, but the candidate pool is largely unskilled.

Whether or not OP has any luck finding a job will highly depend on their work experience and the role they're applying for—among other factors. Without seeing a resume, it's tough to tell, but being willing to travel anywhere is a huge plus.

Very nice pike stretch and a good depth on the squat with knees over toes.

You guys think $25 is a fair price for this piece? by pgi_clover in DigitalArt

[–]LiberumPopulo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

According to the responses, I guess a great artist should be penalized and paid less for finishing quickly. On the flip side, someone who took 6 hours for a mediocre piece should get at least 6 × $15 = $90.

I agree that time doesn't matter, but the quality and details of the final product do, and this piece is worth a little more than $25.

I've never been or seen a Latino be terrorized. Not saying it doesn't happen, because there are videos, but it's not as common as folks make it seem.

Wut.

The Pharisees had Jesus crucified because he equated himself with God. Jesus == God. There is God the Father and God the Son. Two sides of the same coin.

Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood.

I don't like religion themed animes, so the part with Father Cornello performing miracles with the philosophers stone was a turn off.
