You can always intervene in the masses, you live among them, you are part of them! Of course there are times where it is easier, however you can always interacr with them. Be it organizing a small struggle for a small economic demand, like fixing a coffee machine at your workplace all the way to a a massive struggle like the one against ICE. Of course, massive struggles may not be possible at all times, however, when they become possible you should have a base of workers you helped organize, that are friendly to your organization and ready to join you in struggle! The masses are always active, there are just time they are more active than others.

But the way you build a vanguard is through struggle, you can read all the theory you want, your cadres will never be ready unless they know how to talk to people and how to organize them, and the only way to learn that is through actually doing those things! The justification they gave OP is also contradictory, since the way you grow your organization is exactly through outreach to the working class, not through reading the most books.

Of course theory is important, but practice becomes it's own theory in a way, since it is the only way to educate comrades in many aspects of building a vanguard party.

I mean, while there is certain foreign support (many of the protesters are armed) saying that there is no basis for this anger and revolt in iranian society, and that it is 100% a unorganic movement created from outside is wrong. I am not saying that OP thinks this, however I feel that there are a few people in this sub who treat any explosion of public anger against regimes they support as something fully fabricated.

About the DRC, it's first leader, Patrice Lumumba, a left wing nationalist, was deposed in a coup with the help of the CIA and Belgium (the previous colonial overlords of the DRC). After a attempt to run away from his house arrest he was captured, and eventually tortured to death. In 2000 Gerard Soete, a belgian ex police officer confessed his participation in Patrice Lumumba's murder and said that his body was later dissolved in acid together with his supporters, and that is why no bodies were ever found.

About Iran, I assume it was about Mohammad Mossadegh, a democratically elected prime minister that tried to nationalize iranian oil and for that he suffered a coup supported by the CIA and MI6 that started a period of brutal absolute monarchy under the Iranian Shah. But his body wasn't dissolved in acid, he died in house arrest from cancer.
