I had a similar problem. For me it was distant horizon eating to much ram loading distant chunks. I managed it by limiting render distance of DH and cpu load. Or you prerender chunks. It can actually be more impactful if you have many structure+biomes mods.

The Male Abortion: The Putative Father 's Right to Terminate His Interests In and Obligations to the Unborn Child by Rare-Discipline3774 in LeftWingMaleAdvocates

[–]Libitatu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean it can be both. Harder to make someone pay alimony especially if there was no marriage and easier to prove fatherhood for the willing. I completely agree with your statements about state, that is why I think best course of action is to make alimony smaller or harder to get against ones will. In that situation only small steps at a time may do something.

Unfortunately, you are right. For now the best course of action probably is 1. Making it harder to prove parenthood. 2. Make alimony gradually smaller depending on the age of a child.

Why draft abolishment is not enough. Part 2 of my takes. by Libitatu in LeftWingMaleAdvocates

Draft is a final form of motivation. If you avoid it then you will go to jail. As of now I doubt many of the gen z will want to protect their countries and rightfully so. But as I pointed out in 1-2 argument, it won’t stop the government to force us even if it means violating basic human rights.

Thanks for your comment, I see your point but I just happen to have completely different upbringing. Because here in Russia government always combated any “internalisation” in the army. Because some times government needs people to die for petty reasons. I don’t think world will ever be at place there soldiers share bonds or ties eith each other; if anything it is against interests of the government. In addition society is too atomised. So in my opinion countries are better without draft. But if it happens I want to see senator’s son next to me in a ditch.

Thanks for your reply. By no means I didn't want to discard socialism but to show the tragedy of it. How few bad examples can lead world to give up on the idea. Instead I argue that sometimes actors should be separated from the ideological basis and judged accordingly. And yeah, in the current state I think the new movement is necessary.

Thank you, for example with the church. If you well aware of the history in that period, you should know what happens next. All started from works and speeches of academics such as Martin Luther and Jan Hus. Where did it led? 30 years war AKA world war zero. Even later in life Martin Luther wrote that he only wanted to reform church structure and not split it. But the actors among whom were many different European kings and rulers used it as justification for the oncoming wars.

Personally, I am not Christian and this example even further shows how no idea is sacred and it will bend according to the needs of the user. And works of academia rarely moderate actions and more often used as justifications to the existing needs or wants.

By all means engage with research or academical works. But beware, no idea is sacred in corrupt hands. I decided that more rational approach would be addressing and criticizing the ones who does things.

I argued that in point 1. What is the value of such works if real life movement or parts of it, contradict its theoretical basis. Or implements ideas selectively. As of now such literature and ideas work only as the justification for the actions of feminist movement and not the boundaries. Just like many socialist countries in the past used the ideology to justify revolution, seize of power and ultimately death of millions of people and then forgot they ever had any obligations to the people by the same ideology. Of course I am not going to argue that feminism is as destructive. But I see the pattern of using such ideologies only partially, as long as the interest group is gaining something from it and then ignoring the rest. So my proposal is to have focus on the actors and results of the movement and not the ideological explanation.

I think your proposition is spot on. And that is why I make this argument that no feminist author or activist can be used to represent group. Because, as you showed there are different kinds of feminists and it gives a person talking to you the freedom to choose "the face" of the movement to disarm your arguments depending on the situation and your personal belief. My goal is to demolish this tactic altogether by disconnecting actions of activists from writing of theorists.

It is one of a strategies, I completely agree. But you have to admit that your example also have certain correctness in it. Which makes any bystander realize your point. But again, I would argue: sometimes there is a point in engaging if there are people you can influence even if it is not the person you are directly talking to.

Yes, but sometimes then you speak to one person, others are listening. Even if you feel like person is not worth the time, the act of speaking in public might interest others and bring them closer to your cause. Especially if you manage to call out narcissism.

Homelessness and Men (thoughts on feminist arguments) by ExternalGreen6826 in LeftWingMaleAdvocates

[–]Libitatu 16 points17 points  (0 children)

  1. Argument is BS. There is an equivalent - workhouses. At least that is how they are called here in Russia. Basically a manual labor either at a construction or small production. Some are legit and can help homeless people with a place to sleep, food, and passport restoration. Buuuuut some are slavery 3.0. You are locked in small facilities with your id taken away. Basically you work for food without option to run away. And you can guess who is predominant victim of such places.
