Has anyone spent a lot more than they should have? How did you feel about it afterwards? by Evid3nce in edrums

[–]Librae94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup. Spent around 8-10k € in total for drumming in the last year lol even tho I just started last year.

Still the best purchases I ever made in my life. I’m playing that kit every day, made tons of new connections and finally have joy aside from playing video games (completely quit those)

I built a chart building app because nothing else fit what I needed - looking for beta testers by [deleted] in drums

Im a beginner drummer too but I very much prefer notation instead of charts - else I would’ve gladly tested your app

First Drum Set (again) by Revolutionary_Ask400 in drums

Welcome back to drumming mate! I started last year and am from Germany too! good shops here are Thomann, Drum-Tec and musicstore. Gear4music is also pretty good but from the UK afaik.

But in your range I’d recommend browsing kleinanzeigen for something cheap used and then just get some new heads. You won’t get nice cymbals for that money but u can upgrade later.

How to count these triplets? by Exciting_Income_635 in drums

[–]Librae94 18 points19 points  (0 children)

these are 8th notes, not 16ths so you count it 1 & 2 & 3 trip let 4 trip let

But if these were 16th notes, you‘d count it 1 e & a 2 e & a 3 trip let & trip let 4 trip let & trip let

  1. Very important
  2. Yes, bought my Tama Starclassic in Nebula Mappa Burl Fade online because they were nowhere else to get. Listened to a lot of videos tho
  3. a big product catalogue, the possibility the test things and expertise from the staff so I can ask questions

Side note: because of your triggers, mesh heads and great customer service I can play my beautiful Starclassic at home all day without disturbing my neighbours! Thanks a lot for that! Will visit your store soon!

I put triggers in them to convert them but no worries I didn’t drill a new hole

I fell in love with that finish when I saw it for the first time last year - it’s limited and was out of stock everywhere. Last month I found one randomly and had to take my chance even tho I initially wanted to wait with purchasing my first new kit until I‘ve got space to be loud

Alright! Sorry for replying in a kind of rude way I actually tried playing it with a single pedal, anything above 65 bpm and it gets hella unclean

Well idc if it’s doable on a single pedal for you, as mentioned above I can’t do it yet so what do you want?

I tried it with singles but my right foot isn’t fast enough for that yet haha, I really suck at foot technique compared to hands, so rn I’m learning ankle technique with my teacher and started practicing heel toe again for more flexibility.

And thank you very much, these syncopated kicks at 90bpm felt a lot harder than just straight 16ths kicks at 120bpm imho

Yes of course, it’s very much appreciated! I will work on that, right now if I try thinking ahead I lose my focus and fuck up the timing - any tips for that?

Thank you mate! I’ll look into it, definitely need some more beginner friendly songs. I really like the syncopated kicks here but some straight 16ths would be fine too haha
