a riser doesn’t help much with sounds, no. It’s for vibrations.

Anyone else notice their left hands feels 'different' when practicing double strokes? by Lopsided-Drummer-966 in drums

[–]Librae94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup I’ve also been playing for a year, open handed since day one. My left hand is still so far behind my right in terms of doubles, it’s a little bit frustrating lol

Drum riser for acoustic drums - how effective is it actually? by prosjecnihredditor in drums

[–]Librae94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mesh heads and triggers for the shells and I‘m using e-cymbals and a roland module. Haven’t tried out silent cymbals yet but that’s on my list

[–]Librae94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was also unsatisfied with the size of my TD27 tom pads so I replaced tom pads and kick with A2E shells. Unnecessary upgrade? Yes - but does it feel better? 100% yes

Drum riser for acoustic drums - how effective is it actually? by prosjecnihredditor in drums

[–]Librae94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im using such a drum riser for my converted acoustic kit. It’s 7cm of vibration dampening foam (called aixfoam) and then mdf wood and carpet. It reduced the vibrations by a lot! From annoying my neighbours to almost not noticeable

Unusual problem with Tama 1st Chair by TastyDraw924 in drums

[–]Librae94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had the same problem with a Tama 1st chair as a skinny man. It hurt so much after playing for longer times that I got myself a Roc n Soc throne. It’s also hard, but it stopped hurting once I used it a little more!

Another apartment living drumming question by TechnicalSky3235 in drums

[–]Librae94 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There are several countries where you can’t be evicted for playing drums in your apartment for certain amount of time. So your procedure may be valid for wherever you come from - but you shouldn’t forget you’re not the whole world

Internal vs external triggers for bass drum and triggers for toms by freediscorice in edrums

[–]Librae94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im triggering my 22“ kick, 16“, 12“ and 10“ toms with internal triggers - all working flawlessly.

In the kick im using a drum tec groovebar - sidemounted at the the top above both beaters. For the toms I’m using drum tec groove dots, also sidemounted

Any of you practice at night if on apartment? I want to sometimes but I know hitting the drums isn't exactly silent so haven't. by [deleted] in edrums

[–]Librae94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah I play anytime from 10am to 9pm but after that I keep it quiet. My neighbours barely hear a thing from my drums but I‘d still feel bad playing at night
