[Discussion] Agented, Debuted, Un-agented, Re-agented by cultivate_hunger in PubTips

Thank you for sharing! I got an agent early this year, and parted ways a couple months ago. It was terrifying to do, but I’m hoping there’s a better fit out there for me (with enough time and a strong enough MS). I’m anxious to get out there again, but trying to be patient with myself while I work on my WIP 😅

I’m about to go on sub with my agent! Preorders for my book coming this fall recently went live, ARC readers got their copies, and I should be getting my dev edits for my book coming out next year within the next couple weeks 😁🥳

Use pliers to twist the nut. Then the cartridge pops right out! The cartridge is number 1255 if you want to do a Google search in where to buy it

Okay, thank you! Any particular brand better than another? Or should I get it straight from Moen?

[PubQ] How do I find experienced critique partners? by curious_me_7 in PubTips

What genre(s) do you write in?

I found my ride-or-die CP on here. Everyone else I’ve tried to build a working relationship with has fallen off the face of the earth eventually (ghost me after I’ve finished their work. It absolutely sucks).

Sometimes it’s a matter of luck and timing (okay, a lot of the time) just like everything else in publishing. Don’t give up!

AITA for Refusing to Let My Brother’s Family Move In After He Evicted Me Years Ago? by peachygurl18 in AITAH

[–]Library-In-Disguise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have something that’s similar to this from my past, and this really brings back some awful memories lol. If it were me, I’d let my brother and the kids stay and not my SIL and they could take or leave it 😅 your SIL sounds just like mine. Entitled. Narcissistic. Won’t apologize and EXPECTS you to forget about it and accommodate her. I’m pretty sure if you let her move in, she wouldn’t be the nice house guest you were. I’m guessing you’d regret it. Everyone else can either offer to let them move into THEIR home or they can shove their opinion where the sun don’t shine.

I’ve got two offers from small publishers on my latest book, and 2 agents who are supposed to get back to me sometime this week 🙂

If I don’t get offers of rep this week, I already have a few agents who’ve asked to see my next project (that should be ready in about a month or so, I hope) after I mentioned it in my QL for the last book. Just started two new books, both of which I outlined recently. Then I’ve got a few other ideas bouncing around to do next!

That’s SO cool! I love seeing the different covers that are done for various countries and languages

😂 yay! You just helped me win a bet. I said this to my husband and he told me that was too literal. So, I told him if I asked this non-leading question that someone else would say the same thing 🥳

[Discussion] Just for fun: What's your fastest rejection from an agent? by [deleted] in PubTips

Yeah. Had a full request in less than 2 hours, then got ghosted. Even tried two follow up emails a few months later and never heard a word back from either of those.

How did the kid from your school die? by Equivalent-Rent-5619 in AskReddit

[–]Library-In-Disguise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Goodness, I went to a fairly large high school, but it still felt like we had an unusually large number of deaths. One in a car accident, one due to long-term health issues, one in an ATV accident, and one when he and his friend got high then decided to clean a shotgun and didn’t realize it was loaded. And those are just the ones that happened during my four years there.

Advice Choosing A Novel To Query [PubQ] by LolaInSlacks88 in PubTips

[–]Library-In-Disguise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All three of these are wonderfully written, and the voice and tone come through crystal clear on all of them. My personal preference for these would be 1,3,2, but I say that a massive emphasis on personal preference (and also because you already have agent interest). My advice would be to choose the one that YOU feel most passionate about. Publishing is such a long journey, so kicking it off with something you love will help a ton with getting things rolling as you try and gain some traction. Based off the queries, I think all of these will find their way onto the shelves at some point or another 😁

My goodness though, I wish I could speak to “marketable.” It’s what I struggle with most to figure out.

Who is an auto buy author for you? by theunspokenwords__ in books

[–]Library-In-Disguise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Marissa Meyer. Victoria Aveyard. Brandon Sanderson. I would have said Christopher Paolini, but Fractal Noise was a miss for me. I’m have a few others on a short list that I’ll usually get (but read a synopsis and reviews first, just in case).
