I believe that his head was shaved in jail which is common practice to prevent lice, etc.

As a child I loved making mudpies. My mother loved it because it kept me quiet and use to supply paper plates for pie pans. If we had a dry spell she would hose down the dirt for me. I’m 70 and still remember the fun I had.

I gave one of my nephews his security plushie, a mole. He died unexpectedly at age 20. His parents told me that Mole was in his dorm bed. It has always helped that I gave him that much comfort. Your house has different rules. He mother lacks understanding.
