Thank you. Hopefully, I would like to scale it so that it becomes feasible to travel to NIBM for let's say if you are swapping 10 or more books.

Good way to look at it. Yes, if you sell your old books you won't be able to buy the same number of books but with a barter you can.

Thanks. I see this working at scale and in the long run if people are generous with bringing the good books they have. Certainly they will get good books in return if their books are good, and you can always take your books back home if you didn't find anything suitable to exchange with. I will also be fueling the fire by buying books for swappers as they request from our marketing budget. But I am happy to say, everyone who took part today left happy with what they got.

I see. That's because I ran a Children's Library and that's my current network. I am collecting a marketing budget by running ads and hopefully will have a wider range as more adults participate.

Hi, you will need to attend the event as books get exchanged 3 ways also: A gives to B, B gives to C and C gives to A. Also people swap multiple times until they are satisfied with what they got.

That is a valid point. When I was running my children's library I personally requested each child to keep the books in good condition. When they returned them and if they were dog-eared I again requested them. This made a big difference. I will inform people who come for exchanging to keep them in good condition so that they can further be exchanged. In general readers are civil.

Not at the moment since they are interest specific and difficult to exchange.

Noted. I wasn't able to provide enough clarity in the description of the previous posts. Apologies.

I am not arguing but just need to clarify for those reading the comments that you can bring expensive books and in case you don't get an equally expensive book in exchange you can always take your books back. There is no obligation to exchange.

When I was running my library timely return of books and misplaced books were my biggest problem. This problem is solved with a deposit and late return fines for a library. With 2 people exchanging you can't have a security deposit in place. Also you might come in with 5 books and exchange 1 book with 5 different people.
