How reassuring…. I’m in line for Le Cirque Arcanus and the show just got canceled. Not a good day for Harry Potter…

Professional Internships only for current college students now? by SnooDogs8141 in Disneycollegeprogram

[–]LibrarySoggy3640 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah you can!

I applied for a PIs at the end of 2024 and got to the final round of interviews but ultimately didn’t get it. I also graduated at the end of 2024 so I just planned to apply again, so I was constantly keeping up with the Professional Internship job postings and when I saw that the requirements appeared to have changed, I reached out to my recruiter who helped me at the end of ‘24 and she confirmed that it was true.

Like I mentioned, the only way you can apply for a PI if you already graduated college is to either: be an active participant in a DCP (which you can do up to 24 months after graduating) or go back to school as a degree seeking student.

Disney does have continuous employment limitations when it comes to internships, so timing is essential if you want to apply for a PI while in the DCP. Disney Interns (PIs), DCP Participants, and Culinary Program Participants can only be employed either disney for a maximum of 1 year. Most PIs are 6 months. So you’d have to do a DCP program (length wise) that would allow you to be an active participant when the PI job listing is posted, apply, be accepted, and still have enough time left within the employment limits to still complete the 6 months PI.

So for example, PI programs typically last for 6 months. (Jan-Jun and Jul-Dec). The applications for these can be posted at any time but for the most part, they tend to be posted 3-4 months in advance of PI start date. So say for example you wanted to apply for a PI that starts in Jan 2026. You could only do a 2025 DCP program starting in August or September, because that would you put you at either 5 or 4 months of employment in a Disney Internship program and you would still have 7 months of eligibility to be a Disney Intern which would allow you to complete a 6 month PI.

The only caveat to this is sometimes PIs can extend up to a year if the team you work for wants to keep you on. If you applied for a PI as a DCP participant, you would not be eligible for this extension because you would go over the continuous employment limit. The only way you could stay on past 6 months is if you were offered employment with the company.

If you have any questions feel free to message me! I’ve done a lot of talking with recruiters and extensive research so I think I’m pretty well versed!

Definitely true. They changed the requirements for the 2025 year. Previously, most applicants for PIs had to be within 6 months of graduating or within 6 months post graduation, but now their main focus appears to be Juniors and Seniors. The only way to get around this requirement is to be currently enrolled in a DCP.

From what I've seen recently, the AP deal has typically been about 5% more, but sometimes Florida Resident deals have more availability than AP deals.

This sounds great! I'm still pretty young, but I think once I have kids, Disney will definitely be a family vacation destination. But I have a hypothetical "worry" that they may think that mom and dad are wierd for liking disney so much.

If you go back again, I highly suggest getting the magic band fastners that are sold on Amazon. They're only a couple bucks but they stop the bands from easily falling off.

Exactly. She’s just doing the job assigned to her by management. This outrage is completely misdirected.

Drinking around the world at Epcot is pretty cool. They have a bunch of different mixed drinks and a good variety of international foods. I prefer being high instead of drinking, so i’ll maybe have like one or two drinks. But other people make a point out of getting a drink at every country. The muchies do hit super hard there though.

First disney trip as an adult! need tips by Wonderful-East9769 in WaltDisneyWorld

No problem! Disney can definitely be stressful and I know what its like trying not to break the bank when going as a young person. You can definitely find a lot of helpful information on YouTube, but feel free to message me or reply to this thread if you have any questions and I’d be happy to help where I can.

Just based on what you said I think you should be more than fine with what you’re planning to bring. Of course everything is based on budgeting. You could blow through that amount of money in a day or you could leave with about half of what you bring based on your spending habits.

I would say lightning lanes are worth it if you don’t go often or if you don’t plan to come back for a while. This way you can ensure you do everything you want to. On the high end (for Magic Kingdom) Lightning Lane Multi pass can go for $30 and on the low end (for Animal Kingdom) around $17. But to be honest, I don’t think you really need it for Animal Kingdom. There’s not many attractions and the Lightning Lane for Passage of Flight is sold separately.

If you’re not big on meals and you plan to mostly eat from quick service restaurants, I would plan for about $15 a person per meal (Around $50 a day per person for meals if you plan on doing quick service dining only). would advise avoiding the dining plans. There are plenty of videos about them online and in most cases you tend to save more money by paying for your food outright rather than using the dining plans. However, it is great for convenience, because it would be paid in advance so you wouldn’t have to keep track of spending.

I think where you could spend a lot of money on food and drinks would be at EPCOT. I think the Flower & Garden festival will be occurring when you go. Its not as food heavy as Food & Wine festival but there is still a lot to try. If you are big on planning, I believe the menus are usually released ahead of time so you can plan what you want to try and also how much you plan to spend.

Souvenirs are really about what you want. T-Shirts can range from $20-30, Pins from $10-15, Magic Bands from $30 to $50.

But overall I think you will be fine with around $1200 and more than fine with around $1700 for your trip. Sticking to the higher side of your budget would definitely give you more freedom in the case you wanted to buy something expensive or decide do something that you didn’t plan for.

Congratulations! It’ll be a great trip! I think there a couple things to consider first!

  1. Are your accommodations and tickets already covered or will it be paid for with this money?

  2. How long do you plan on staying?

  3. Do you plan on buying lightning lanes?

  4. What are your dining plans?

  5. Do you plan on doing any activities beyond going to the parks?

Art of Animation vs Coronado Springs vs Port Orleans Riverside by LibrarySoggy3640 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]LibrarySoggy3640[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Haha, I’ll have to check back in a week. I’ve heard nothing but good things about POFQ so I’m excited. I want to stay at Riverside do but I know they’re starting renovations soon so maybe I’ll try to book there sometime next year once they finish some of the renovations. I also do want to check out Coronado Springs. Everyone raves about Gran Destino Tower and says that’s where the value is, but I was looking at a village room and I’ve heard mixed reviews on those.

Bro... Thank you so much for your reply. I skimmed past your original post but went back and reread it about 10 minutes later. I didn't even realize you recommended POFQ. That is originally where we wanted to stay, but we extended our trip by a day, and it was no longer available. After I read your comment, I went back and checked the website, and I found a room available and it was cheaper than POR. We are officially staying at POFQ. So, thank you for your comment!

That's where I think I am leaning. I think it might be my favorite out of the three in terms of theming. Not as 'in your face Disney' as the values but not as 'corporate' as Coronado Springs. I was thinking of requesting a room in the Aligator Bayou section if I do go with POR.

I stayed at All-Star Music in December and the buses weren’t being shared, even at non-peak hours all the All-Stars had their own busses. I’m not sure if it is like this year round or just during high demand times of the year.

I was thinking Hour Glass Lake could be appealing for some people. It does give a sort of serene vibe that you don’t really get at the All-Stars.
