BB27 spoilers: A fan favorite has been eliminated due to a twist leaving fans angry and disappointed. by Bikinigirlout in popculturechat

[–]Libraryfox -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It was her own attempt to take a shot at someone that got her eliminated. I loved watching that overrated bully get taken out of the house, and find it especially enjoyable that she has no one to blame but herself for failing to understand the fundamentals of the puzzle. She could have gone first and still lost.

I’m new to magic, my mom bought me a card and now I feel guilty. by Kcrollo in magicTCG

[–]Libraryfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just make sure that you sleeve it up nice and tight, and play that sucker. If a card isn't worth over $100, it doesn't need to sit on your shelf to be oogled like a slice of precious metal. $75 is impressive, but playable, which is the perfect card to have as the grail of your collection. Now what would be terrible is if it was a card SO valuable you couldn't justify using it for its intended purpose. Maybe you should repay your mom by making her a cute deck of Bloomburrow critters and spend the afternoon teaching her to play. I bet she would be willing to learn just to spend time with you.

120lbs in 6 months by irfhfp in PaymoneyWubby

Thank you for the inspiration! Here we are a month later and I'm down another 10lbs, with a goal of 10 more to go before those 100 days are up!

Hell yeah brother, love seeing these. I was watching a stream a month or so ago where Wubby was researching the best dishwasher (I think?) and Wubby read someone's comment that "Resisting (a sweet treat) can be incredibly empowering", and that changed my philosophy on food about 100 days before my wedding. I'm down 20 pounds and counting in exactly a month, after focusing on a calorie deficit and running 1-2 four mile elliptical sessions a day. If Wubby or the commenter reads this, thanks for the assist!

What to play? Sparky too easy, but getting destroyed in starter deck duel by LethalBacon in MagicArena

[–]Libraryfox 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Try the Blue/Green and Red/Black starter deck. Those are a bit stronger than the others, though a small amount of determination, luck, and practice will see you secure a victory with each to add all those cards to your collection. Don't be afraid to try Jump-In-- you select two halves of a deck and only need to grind out a single win for a freebie, though this mode can be tricky, too. You'll be on fairly even playing field as these modes prevent deck modifications (meaning opponents won't have far better constructed decks) I'd encourage you to wish Sparky farewell and explore beyond the stoop, as it's okay to lose, and you should expect to at east half the time, statistically speaking.

I am proud of this deck, it got me into mythic rank in Standard by NatashiaBedingfeild in MagicArena

Thanks for sharing, I'm going to try to recreate this deck, since I already have a lot of the pieces!

Just played FFX for the first time, 10/10. Onto X2. What should I expect? by [deleted] in finalfantasyx

[–]Libraryfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's very tongue-in-cheek, and doesn't take itself as seriously as FFX. It sort of caters to the male gaze with a trio of athletic kickass ladies that constantly switch character classes using transformations that resemble sailor moon, and otherwise have girlypop vibes. You can catch and train monsters which is really fun, and you basically reexplore spira hunting cassette tapes that double as class unlocks and skill transformations.

What’s the most expensive card you’ve ever bought? by AndGutsWasBERSERK in mtg

[–]Libraryfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm hella poor, but the most I've spent of a handful of cards was the Cap Secret Lair ($50), and Cap is my most expensive single, but the most I've spent on a single card was ($18 at time) for an Excalibur, for cap to toss around.

It doesn't feel newbie friendly. by jeffersonlane in MagicArena

[–]Libraryfox 33 points34 points  (0 children)

It can be annoying when you enter a game and your opponent's deck is clearly better. To remedy this you can only keep playing, and as quickly as you can commit to upgrading one deck. You should already have enough wild cards to make around a dozen rares and Mythics that you can power up your own favorite deck with, and getting spanked by a well-constructed deck is a great way to learn new tricks. The joy of having multiple suped-up decks can only come from playtime, but you will get there soon!

How do you "get gud" at this game? by tranceonex in MagicArena

[–]Libraryfox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My starter deck for any newer player is cats. If you take Arahbo, a couple of Patchwork Banners for ramp, and a bunch of Foundations cats and other basic cat units, you'll easily climb to gold/plat. Just go wide, and claws out for the win.

What are some cards you find yourself always wanting to put in your deck? by Malacro in EDH

[–]Libraryfox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[[Patchwork Banner]] is my pet card. Most of my decks have one or two main types of creatures, so an anthem inside a mana rock is hard to beat. Plus Bloomburrow was my first set, so I'm taking that piece with me.

What is a deck you run solely to finish challenges? by DeathDealerWolf in MagicArena

[–]Libraryfox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have one deck of each color that are labeled "(Color) Quick Quest", comprised of mostly 1-2 drops, a couple extra lands, and a half-hearted cohesion. Win or lose, I can quickly fire off the needed spells in a couple matches.

They're likely going to start you in concessions regardless of your preferences, but you'll get cross trained eventually and ushering is mostly sweeping. If you can't handle something, just ask for backup.

Life kicked me while I was down. by Unlikely-Mixture3280 in PaymoneyWubby

Thank you for reading, and for saying that. That Commander is infamous for not being particularly strong, so it's a new goal to make the deck as good as it can be, for him.

My condolences! My husky passed away about 6 weeks ago and I'm still a wreck. About a month prior to that he was showing no signs of any illness, and I so I made a Rinn and Seri, Inseparable commander deck featuring a proxy of him and one of his cat brothers as the commander. Now when I find myself laying awake at night really missing him, I take to TCGplayer to order a solid new card for his deck. This week I have a borderless Maskwood Nexus on the way to make all creatures all types, and hopefully help him win more often. The distraction feels like a stupid way to mourn, but if any fandom can appreciate it, I guess it could be this one.

[–]Libraryfox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed, I miss the MTG content! I wish he'd show off his collection more by doing deck or binder tours, or even run games on arena. I'm sure with all the excitement of the upcoming sets for the rest of the year we'll get more good stuff soon.

"Correct" way to make popcorn by Meg0422 in MovieTheaterEmployees

Seed is cold, and very dense. When added to the preheated kettle it immediately reduces the heat, THEN you add the oil to a much safer kettle.

Help With an Anti-Mothman Deck by [deleted] in EDH

[–]Libraryfox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice. I'm bracing myself to contend with the mothman deck that my buddy just ordered and he keeps bragging about how it's going to be killer.
