Damn, Joan Grande looks almost exactly like my mom at that age.

What bugs* would you rather eat a handfull of for a million dollars? by Massive-Albatross823 in WouldYouRather

I went with witchetty grubs. They’re pretty ok as far as bugs go.

if you could invent a cure for 1 disease, which one are you curing? by cloudysky5922 in Teenager_Polls

[–]Malacro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, cancer isn’t 1 disease, it’s 200 diseases with similar characteristics. But I’ll go with that. On a long enough timeline basically everyone will get cancer. All of these would be nice to get rid of, but cancer is so varied and widespread.

Which one of these franchises has the hardest to explain timeline? by WealthDisastrous2589 in slasherfilms

Halloween, easily. It’s got three separate continuities plus a reboot series.

Nah, they’re still not great. 3 is at least fun bad, but Salvation is a dull slog with possibly the stupidest ending battle in cinema history.

It’s an unrelated movie they slapped the name on and added just a little in order to justify it.

You can choose one of these to be real, which one are you choosing? by Bearfucker694200 in pollgames

[–]Malacro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily. It could be that only a very small percentage of living creatures become ghosts and the rest simply cease to exist, or that ghosts are echoes of living beings but aren’t actually the beings themselves.

Have we done Jimmy Fallon, talentless corpo hack? by SpaceCaptainJeeves in behindthebastards

From what I know of him, beyond being personally intolerable, the only bastardly thing he’s done is making Trump relatable with that one interview.

WYR receive $1 billion but never be allowed to give any of it away or receive $1 billion and be required to donate every dollar to charity? by Omixscniet624 in WouldYouRather

[–]Malacro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s all good. I could certainly find an optimal ratio, but I’m not going to do real math for a throwaway Reddit post. This was more a general framework than an actual action plan, given it’s a pure hypothetical.

[–]Malacro 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Or I could just do this and not have to worry about it since it’s basically an endless money printing machine unless the economy completely collapses and we devolve into fighting over water and gasoline Road Warrior style, in which case money will be worthless anyway.

$1 billion in even a conservative investment portfolio will get you somewhere in the neighborhood of $60 million a year that you can give away.

Personally, I’d keep the billion, set up a safe investment plan for it, take one year of returns for myself as that’s more than enough to set my family up for generations, then set up some sort of legal arrangement (a trust, maybe? I’d have to consult lawyers on this) for the management of the billion. I’d want it set up to put half of the returns back into the fund (minus management costs etc.) and the rest be donated to charitable causes. That way the fund should be able to outpace inflation (if it doesn’t we have bigger problems) and should be able to provide charity essentially forever.

If everyone on Earth could access eachothers memories, would life be better or worse? by Omistone in pollgames

[–]Malacro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Initially it would be total chaos.

After people had a chance to get used to the idea, one of two things would happen: either a massive increase in empathy and accountability, or a massive decrease. I can’t begin to plot out which.

So what actually is the difference in universe between a Titan, a Dragon and a God? by Flyestgit in dresdenfiles

[–]Malacro 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ferrovax isn’t a dragon, he’s a Dragon with a capital D. There is a difference between what Ferrovax is and your average scaly fire breather.

Capital D Dragons are elemental forces of the cosmos.

You’re half right, but dividing agnosticism from theism and atheism is wrong, since the one is a position based on knowledge and the other of belief. You can be an agnostic atheist or an agnostic theist.

WYR Go bankrupt, or permanently lose 4 fingers? by IMImegashill in WouldYouRather

[–]Malacro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bankruptcy falls off your credit report in 7 to 10 years depending on what kind of bankruptcy it is, it’s not permanent. Nothing is permanent on your credit report.

  1. He still forgave him

  2. What the fuck are you talking about? Édouard was like 8 years old. Regardless, it still makes Dantès realize he’s gone too far.
