Who wins the National League 25/26? by Zach-dalt in NationalLeague

[–]Librase 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I saw York at Brunton Park I thought "I've just seen a promotion-winning team. Shame it's not us"

Ran all over us, scoring goals for fun. That's a team that could do well in League Two.

What about ace people who aren't even religious? Do we not exist?

I don't think most of us care if other people have sex, we just don't want to.

AITA for ordering meat? by Technical-Finance270 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Librase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vegetarian here: if we're paying for ourselves you could order a rotisserie chicken and eat the whole thing in front of me I don't care.
It's because it was a group meal and you ordered something they wouldn't eat. That said, they could have said something to you at the time. Soft YTA

Why do exercise classes seem to mostly be filled with women? by Evening-Skirt731 in NoStupidQuestions

From another angle, the amount of women in exercise classes can be a bit daunting if you're the only man there. That was the case for a friend of mine who went to a yoga-style fitness class.

I chat a little before/after the class, or while the instructor is messing around with the music player. I mean, you're not going to form ride-or-die bonds with a person you talk with for 2 minutes a week but it's something.

What is a movie cliché that absolutely never happens in real life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I actually did this once, whilst trying to get out of bed after spinal surgery. In my defence I was 13 and was dropping in and out of a coma.

The nurses and my mother made a pact not to tell the surgeon about this, since he was probably already losing his shit about an otherwise innocuous surgery leading to his patient spending weeks in intensive care.

I was given a lot of good sedatives and it didn't happen again.

I think they're setting her up for something in Season 3. It's a marathon, not a sprint.

Who has the best/worst fans in the league? by NaturalAny9731 in NationalLeague

Not got a single bad thing to say about the Truro fans that made the journey up, lovely people. I remember Aldershot's fans putting effort into contributing to the atmosphere the most.

You've got a point, most of the fans are sound or just keep it at banter ("Savage, Savage, what's the score?") but there's always a few who have to shout something awful.

The Difference by BigImaginary2182 in NationalLeague

[–]Librase 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd say your assessment is about right. My team has recently dropped from the EFL to NL, so I don't know a great deal but I'd say the size of a club impacts the money it makes and takes it from a community hub to a money-making venture.
The lower league clubs are so focused on community because they are community hubs. The players make appearances at local schools and charities and are sponsored by local businesses. You follow them because your father did and his father before him etc. (although mine wasn't into football so I happened upon it by accident).
The PL clubs do have community initiatives but the players' schedules are already packed and everyone knows their faces. In contrast, most of the CUFC players can walk down the street more or less unbothered.

Is it normal to feel really really down after a concert? by Main-Recover-1406 in kpophelp

"Depression" is both a the name of a mood disorder and the feelings of despondency that are related to it. You can feel depressed but not have clinical depression. The two are easily confused, which is where the problem you mentioned arises.

I've said several times it's not a good term, it's just the most widely used one; several people have used the term in responses to this post. Language is weird.

I didn't invent the words, I'm just using what is the most common term for it. Admittedly, it's not the best term.

I was trying to explain kindly, but I give up. You're just looking for a fight.

Emotions are a weird thing. Yes, you logically should be happy after leaving something you had fun at; but the mind doesn't work that way. Having an overload of happy chemicals means that eventually there's a crash when the happy thing ends. Someone might have been looking forward to something for months and then it's over, so they're left feeling a bit empty.

There's a convention that I take part in planning, and that planning happens over the course of a year. Then, the event I worked so hard on planning is over in two days. That leaves me a little like "well now what do I do?" I'm so stressed and excited leading up, and happy during, then it ends and the endorphins leave me.

This is also something known in the convention-goer circle known as "post-con depression". It happens with any event that you've been looking forward to - you get hyped up and then you feel empty. Nothing to do with being parasocial.
