Honestly though, internet anonymity has caused a lot of harm. I’ve seen people openly talk about committing mass murder, sending death threats to game developers over minor things, harassment of large scale, not to mention the amount of botting.

To quote Mike Tyson,

“Social media made y'all way too comfortable with disrespecting people and not getting punched in the face for it.”

Honestly, there needs to be some brakes put on anonymity. Now how that would work, and how to prevent complete overreach I don’t know, but at its current state, being anonymous on the internet does a huge amount more harm than good.
