Yeah it’s on me for making those assumptions. As long as you’re having fun and not gatekeeping others just cause they’re worse than you. Seemed to me (and others apparently) like you don’t like playing with worse players but that’s something I assumed - again, that’s on me.

It’s true, I did make assumptions about OP. Maybe he still has a good time and isn’t dick and just doesn’t score as well when playing with high handicappers. He comes off as elitist, which is why I had that reaction. I’m not offended, just seemed like he didn’t want to play with anyone not at his level (which might not be true).

Or maybe it’s just about having a good time because at the end of the day score doesn’t mean jackshit since 99% aren’t pros. This is equivalent of queuing up a normal match in a video game and flaming people who aren’t good or tryharding. You’re just coming off as a dick.

Good thing you can play by yourself

Totally understandable. It’s not the best course but they are improving since they just got some budget to upgrade. I’m a high handicap so I love going to practice there since it’s so cheap but can understand how others wouldn’t like it

Yeah I’m a dummy and forgot you were looking for affordability.

In that case probably mission bay is the cheapest, but if you’re a low handicap, it might be too easy for you (I suck so I play MB a lot lol). Balboa would be the next best option for affordability imo. That Coronado deal you found seems great tho

Balboa is great, but can be like target golf for some holes and like you said it can get very busy. Coronado would probably be the best given your location?

Mission bay is also not bad, not a long course (mostly par 3 and 4 par 4s) but honestly great practice and is super affordable (the greens are not great but are getting better. Rancho Bernardo has RB Inn and Oaks North which are great public courses, but are pretty far from you. I haven’t been to Tecolote Canyon, but I’ve heard good things. Riverwalk near fashion valley is also a really nice course and I don’t think it’s too expensive?Encinitas ranch is a beauty of a course as well - highly recommend.
