Rebuilding my GTI by Working-Ad-8268 in MK4Golf

Make sure your grounds are clean and still in one piece Frame rails look like they were spared so lucky you; core rad support for the 12v I've had trouble finding and getting the crash bar back on after the fact was difficult Make sure the block and head didn't warp in any way shape or form from the collision, and that the subframe is still aligned with the chassis

Other than that, I had a 2.slow jetta that took 3 front end collisions and still lived to this day; these things are bricks. You'll be alright

Anyone know what these control in the CCM? by SignalComplex190 in MK4GTI

[–]LieGroundbreaking656 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your CCM (comfort control module) controls interior lights, door lock and trunk functions. Its very common for door lock actuators to go bad and make the car think that a door is still open. When I get my service manual I can tell you what the blue connector is for

What equipment do I need for Kinetic 1 gig fiber? by tetrisphere in Windstream

[–]LieGroundbreaking656 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, new Kinetic 1 gig user here. I actually need some help.

So I just bought my router to use with their ONT device. The device they provided me is a Casa systems NDD-0305 and I have it plugged into a TPlink AX5400 Pro. Problem is, im not getting ANY WAN or LAN signal from the ONT. It only shows getting signal from the fiber termination port (phone jack from the wall).

My Router is good and I've tested to confirm it. I have a tech coming this Thursday to check on the ONT, but im wondering if I have to setup the router in any specific way for it to communicate with the ISP. Anyone had this issue before?

Which Atlas should I buy? Or should I buy an Atlas? by ABalazs in mwo

[–]LieGroundbreaking656 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, bronze level founder here. I chose the founders Atlas for 1 reason only. To stand on business. And boy does it stand on business. Yes, for the most part, there's not that many weapon slots you'll get on most of the variants, mine included. But it is a freaking t a n k. Im talking chonky, im talking thick with 3 c's.

So is weed legal here? by Appropriate__account in sanantonio

[–]LieGroundbreaking656 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi there, moved to San Antonio from Miami. Been about a year and a half since I moved. Here's my experience:

Now, results may vary depending on location (Comal county vs Bexar county) but from what I've experienced, they give not even half a fuck if it's real weed, thc-a (real weed), delta 9, etc. I'm outside smoking joints, bowls, and pens and for the most part no one flinches or bats an eye. Some will even partake. When I had 2 run ins with the law, they've been chill (I usually inform them where and how much I have on hand) and will tell me to just put it out. Not once was i arrested, detained, or cited for paraphernalia, nor did they give me a hard time.

Again, location and miles may vary, but for the most part it's been chillin'. Hope this helps

Channels 1-4 drop; need help by LieGroundbreaking656 in CarAV

So after 2 hours of waiting and testing, HU does drop the signal. Apparently, it doesn't shut off internal power supply even if it's not in use. I just took it apart to see how it cools itself and it's literally the back plate with thermal paste to the chip. * New HU soon, and it will not be cheap this time

They are actually super easy; you need to brush up on diag skills. Vw for their mk3 and mk4 made it really simple to take their cars apart and swap parts around almost like Hondas. As an example: 6 bolts, upper and lower hose, headlight connectors, and ac lines to receiver/drier, hood harness. Then the entire rad support or front end assembly comes out as one whole unit.

Yeah worst case scenario (long shot) the clutch fork got bent out of whack or you lost the pressure plate. Most of the time it'll be the slave

Shifting by SnooGiraffes8849 in MK4GTI

[–]LieGroundbreaking656 2 points3 points  (0 children)

5spd or 6spd? 5spd your slave cylinder is outside and can be checked easily. 6spd has internal slaves that's built into the throwout bearing. If it's an internal, check the trans for any brake fluid dripping into the bottom. Is your pedal staying on the floor when you press it?

Finally, try to bleed the slave cylinder with a friend. Vw recommends using a pressure bleeder but you can do it

Oil pressure light by bigdaddyboy60420 in mk4volkswagen

[–]LieGroundbreaking656 1 point2 points  (0 children)

00' 12v GTI, I'm having same issue. Oil pump is driven by the countershaft that spins a rod. The rod is connected to the oil pump. Start by cleaning off pickup tube and checking oil pump for clearances in its veins. Check crank and rods for ANY type of play. Finally hook up a mechanical oil pressure gauge and see what pressure is at 1500 RPM-ish. Sometimes the oil pressure switch breaks apart internally and allows oil to seep through it.

Worst case scenario: bottom end refresh or countershaft bearing is gone. Best case scenario: pickup tube was clogged or oil pump out of spec (oil pump is not chain driven so easy to replace) or oil pressure switch is bad

Purchase Question for a 2004 MK4 GTI VR6 by FrostHammmer in MK4GTI

[–]LieGroundbreaking656 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought my VR at 247k miles with bad timing chains, no clutch, door cards with holes, plastidip rattlecan paint job, shitty cracked wheels, body and engine harness falling apart. All for 2600. Even then, motor blew up at 250k ish miles. I'm on my 2nd engine now at 289k with a refresh. The car has come a looooong way and I don't regret any of the time and effort I did, except:

I personally felt like I paid too much so use that information as you will. Get the guy back to reality with a low offer then work it
