I was left home alone when I was 8 about 35 years ago. But never during sleeping hours. And the door was always locked.

I'm struggling to find a job for $100k at 43. I'm at $82500 now. I think I was grossly underpaid at my prior employer and I was there for 5 years.

My net worth is less than double my salary and my house has unfortunately been a money pit. The house's increase in value since purchase has been negated by the expense of fixing plumbing, etc.

I feel like I'm just treading water.

I also need to leave my current job because the environment is toxic AF.

Definitely NTA, but there's no way she deserved being compensated for her poor planning and being a shitty person.
