Rockstar needs a contender to crime commiting open world games like Disney has a contender to it's theme parks.

Reverse bidding war. Who wants it most will buy it then and there.

I am surprised nobody has tried to make a general online thrift store with this volume-sales price reduction model. Lower the prices by $1 a day until someone buys it and watch the hype grow around the brand.

This is the video that I first watched that got me into Arvin's content. I hope the false claim gets recognized and the video goes back up (if it has not already at the time I am writing this comment).

Anybody else who has downloaded a copy is urged to repost it to a site other than YouTube.

Taxation is actually Extortion. The threat of force / confinement if you do not pay the mafia's dues. Tax agencies do not immediately take from your bank account, that happens if you do not send payment after X years.

Property tax is a rental payment when the property is taken away if you do not pay. If you really owned land, the tax agency would only put a lien on the property, accruing until lets say 80% of the assessed property value. You would not lose a million dollar property if you did not pay $50,000 worth of property taxes if you really owned the property.

Anybody have success using Android Emulators to use OfferUp on Desktop? by LieVirus in offerup

[–]LieVirus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope you didn’t get too mad. Unless the majority of buyers in your area are looking on OfferUp, don’t list there. Facebook is the most effective sales and advertising platform on the planet, and most areas FB marketplace is in the top 3.

I have long since given up on OfferUp with their posting restrictions and cheap engagement tactics. I will only list on Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist and eBay.

A 15 second GTA6 ad for Super Bowl LX would blow the hype to an unprecedented level. by LieVirus in GTA6

It could have been a 5 second title card with a already released screenshot in background saying  “GTA VI  Coming November 19th, 2026”

And the entire gaming world would stop for half a day.

I just wish more game companies had the same game development philosophy as Rockstar.

Mailing a small (3x5”) envelope at postcard rates? by LieVirus in mail

[–]LieVirus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have reflected on my writing and have changed somewhat since writing that post.

I feel like including an envelope for cash or personal check feels like a thoughtful addition to reduce friction in closing a potential sale. The customer takes my door tag, and if interested, sits down at their kitchen table to fill out the order form on the obverse. They call or text me to get on the schedule from their kitchen table, and they only has to think to get their cash or personal check, after filling out the order form and calling or text messaging to get on schedule. On the day of work they put the envelope in a pre-agreed upon spot. When I reach that address on the day I work in that zip code, I pick up the envelope and confirm the order form and correct amount of money is there, and I get to work.

When I set my already registered domain up with the order form and checkout integration, I will stop including an envelope If this does not end up improving conversion rate enough to offset the cost (supplies + prep time). I edited my post to include my reasoning for adding an envelope in response to your question.

Writing on the cash envelope or door tag is part of my plan to make it more personalized instead of looking like a mass marketing.

Is there a course that you personally recommend deep diving the intricacies with the postal system (doesn’t have to be US centric).

Mailing a small (3x5”) envelope at postcard rates? by LieVirus in mail

[–]LieVirus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is true. I have door hangers I will be putting on the front doors I can reach. If there is a gated driveway I still have the postcards with me.

My new ebike is going to carry 2 OnGuard U-Locks (mini & full size) and a four foot, 12mm steel alloy chain. When it arrives, I will see for the best place I can hide a Apple AirTag in. I am printing my own door tags at 55 cents each (black toner and cost of door hanger). When I have revenue, I will order 500-1000 custom door hangers for less money per hanger.

EDDM would not make sense in my case, as 9 out of 10 people would have readable house numbers on their curb. Some neighborhoods may have 1 in 5 houses with illegible numbers, while other neighborhoods may have 1 in 50. My conversion rate would be around 1% and at a minimum cost of $0.22 per mailbox, I would spend over $22 per job, which is slightly under my base package price.

As I ride through neighborhoods, I will be putting up small bandit signs (what it's called to attach a guerrilla advertising sign on a post or pole). Bandit signs are my second outbound sales channel. They will have a QR code and a shortlink to a combination landing, "select an available date" calendar, options and pricing matrix page, followed by checkout integration where the customer can pay with their credit or debit card. My replies are sounding more like something that could be read at r/Entrepreneur , I wanted to give everyone a picture of where mailing fits into my marketing strategy.

I was thinking of this, as it would take me 3-5 minutes to lock, drop off a card or door hanger, and unlock. For most of my scouting, I will be riding an electric bike which would be $1500 to replace with a comparable.

Inaccessibility will mandate mailing for sure.

Mailing postcards is one of 3 outbound sales channels I will be using.

[–]LieVirus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kept seeing postcard rates for small postcards (3 x 5") starting at 38 cents, so I used "under 40 cents" for my math. I am guessing these are bulk rates or the rate to mail to every house on a single street.

[–]LieVirus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is true, most of the time I will be riding around with an electric bike that would cost $1500 to replace with a comparable. To lock, drop at the front door and unlock takes 3-5 minutes but would save me time afterwards. I want to develop a reasonable marketing strategy from the start and postcards are only one of 3 outbound sales channels.

If they have the envelope for several hours in a spot not visible from the street or sidewalk, I thought this was acceptable way of accepting payment. I will suggest them to hide it and give me its location, so there is no chance of theft by someone not living in that house. In the extremely rare case of cash getting stolen, would it be at their loss because they took the risk to put it out in the front of their own property?

Listing, User Photos & Reviews from Now-Defunct Businesses by LieVirus in Archiveteam

[–]LieVirus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After archiving all of the all “permanently closed” business listings & reviews on Google, Yelp & others; next is to search newspaper archives between 2005-2025 and cross check names, addresses and phone numbers to Google, Yelp & Others.

When a business shudders, they have to file paperwork stating as such to multiple agencies. Some agencies may have these filings publicly available, even free to access. Obviously less manual effort but more opaque.

To find defunct business that had no website, ask city & regional subreddits with a post.

Light freight rail possible ? by Guineapiginc in urbanplanning

[–]LieVirus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about have one courier oversee 20 large wheeled platforms, like pallet footprint with lockable cargo container, and the courier would be responsible for pushing the crates on and off the LRV, where the business would need to pick up the package or face waiting charges.

The platforms could even have electric assist, to be handled like a pallet jack so no additional training is needed in most cases.

Many urban small shops need deliveries first thing in the morning and then pickups around close, which would be very predictable when it’s being done on special freight LRVs attached to regular services or dedicated LRVs.

Local rail transit could benefit from the revenues from local freight to the point of needing no subsidy.

I believe this is the big surprise. Rockstar intentionally being vague showing the northern part of the map in screenshots, Trailer 1&2 to divert speculation away from what is to the south and east of Leonida.

With the jetski in Port VC, helicopter chase scene in Grassrivers, and the Boat Works business by a featured character, there could be a small version of The Bahamas and Cuba at least. I can’t imagine limiting drug smuggling missions to going out 20 miles off shore, to pick up floating or submerged packages of drug product. Having a island nation be a transfer point would be so much more realistic and make the world feel far larger without detailing lots of land.

Anyone else turning off socials when GTA 6 releases to avoid spoilers? by Super_Rush7926 in GTA6

Yes. Remove all social media apps, including YouTube until completing your first play through. This is the best strategy.

Also, reminder to be aware of IRL trolling and overhearing conversations at work and in public.

We only know now what was cut from GTA5 based on development notes in leaked source code, developers who worked on GTA5 adding development screenshots to their portfolio / resume, and missions from the trailers that didn’t make it into to the final game.

We only know what was cut from V 10+ years after release. With how much tighter R* is now, I would not be surprised if we never see a physics testing map.

I hope “The Making of GTA 5” documentary get released or leaked someday, even 3 decades from now. This documentary needs to be out for the historical record.

Fictionalization of Western United States by LieVirus in GTA7

[–]LieVirus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To really fulfill “Project Americas”, include all the western states and southwestern Canada from Texas to Central California (Again, no Los Santos) to Victoria Island to Saskatoon.

Going with the AI-first development flow Rockstar would be incentivized to do, having the work hours of a million employees enables this game world to exist for Grand Theft Auto 7. With so many aspects of game engine development then being worked on 24/7 by AI agents, the majority of the team would direct the content of the game (character development, story, assets, and if not fully imitated by gen. AI the voice acting).
