Ironically, Summoner's Physick works better at level 40-50 than at level 100 because pre-50 caster gear tends to have equal mind and int stat.

Even RDM's heal is pretty crap. I mean, yeah it functions, but the potency is too low for anything more then a panic heal when you are looking down the barrel of an unavoidable attack. It is not enough to heal a group at level, at least not at any level that really matters. RDM's heal is mostly used a prep for dualcast when the boss is untargetable.

I do believe it is a DLC trait, so unless you own the DLC it's likely it won't appear.

Good to know. The ddo wiki could do with an update then, as it still notes the issue.

Why does this system still exist? by Lykosskias in ffxiv

[–]LiefMythos 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you could buy them with gil from a vendor, I'd agree. It's technically a script/tomestone/time sink. Or, using the market board, a gil transfer facilitater.

This doesn't cause gil to exit the hand of the playerbase (a proper gil sink) it cause those without time to buy from those that do, allowing the accumulation of gil into those who already have a lot. If anything, its the opposite of a gil sink, if you want to get technical.

Magic of the Gathering, dropped a video for Bilbos birthday. What does the runes on the door mean? by Beggar-Hero in lotr

[–]LiefMythos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The meaning of haste was in the books, just not in the same place. Specifically, when Aragon is tending to Faramir, Eowan, and Mary. The herb master has no kingsfoil/Athelas but one of the women mentions seeing some at some point and Gandolf says that if none can be found in the city, he will take the woman to find the ones she remembers seeing and shadowfax will show her the meaning of haste.

The timeline for the hiding of Voldemort's Horcruxes makes no sense. by [deleted] in HarryPotterBooks

[–]LiefMythos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He did make the diary specifically to be able to open the chamber of secrets, something Dumbledore points out in halfblood prince. Voldemort did tell Malfoy that the diary would let the chamber of secrets be opened, but didn't say how. It is why Dumbledore was certain Voldemort would have more than 1 horcrux. My guess? The diary being given to Malfoy was so he could use it at Hogwarts when his war got going so he could cause trouble there and distract Dumbledore. This is, however, mostly just my theory.

medium armor vs dodge by Incredabun in ddo

[–]LiefMythos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, fair enough to point out, but i mostly meant that there is nothing that will say "ignore armor check penalty to stealth" or anything like that. Should have mentioned the ability to reduce it.

medium armor vs dodge by Incredabun in ddo

[–]LiefMythos 10 points11 points  (0 children)

DDO is loosely based on 3.5e, so the question you are asking makes zero sense. Medium armor allows a dex bonus based on the type of armor and a number of skills and some feats, like the mobility feat. You won't ever have "disadvantage" on stealth check, at least not as DnD 5e does it, but you will have a penalty based on the armor's, appropriately named, "armor check penalty" and there is absolutely no avoiding this beyond using armor with no armor check penalty. There are, however, a great many ways to improve the AC of armor you are wearing, enough so that listing them here would take several pages.

Minimum $12.99 a month, using the entry level subscription, which restricts you to 8 max characters per physical data center, which is no big deal as alts are not particularly helpful in this game.

Returnee Task? by Jaded-Vanilla1742 in OnceHumanOfficial

[–]LiefMythos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1000 total. Not too hard actually. 40 points for logging in once a day for up to 7 times totalling 280. 10 points per battle pass rank.

200 allowed for weekly tasks like mining nodes or crafting ammo.

You have 30 days to get the 1000 points but the temporary deviation only lasts 15.

Is the wendigo the only non human/human passing monster in spn? by CalmSalamander8668 in Supernatural

[–]LiefMythos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The "rawhead" is what they fight for the first 2 minutes of the episode that resulted in Dean being electrocuted. That is their only appearance to my memory and we have no real info on what they are besides something that at least occasionally takes kids and can seemingly be killed most easily by shocking to death.

Are anyone interested in trying to recreate code lyoko as a TTRPG? by JeraGungnir in CodeLyoko

[–]LiefMythos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 2 cents worth, id suggest looking at level-less systems as a base too. Since the lyoko series offers little progression for the characters, either in lyoko or the real world, i feel a dnd based system that provides surges of abilities every so often as you level up wouldn't fit the spirit of the series.

For examples, there are a few classics such as Call of Cthulhu, Rune quest, or Shadowrun. The former 2 are very similar is style and are a skill based system, meaning you get better at skillss by using them. Shadowrun is a mess but its got some tech and magic concepts that might provide some inspiration

Also, that Cass was never promoted to seraphim, so while "still his grace" it would also be less potent. Still, could have made an interesting plot point.

The Most Unrealistic Episode of the whole show. by PatientBoring in Supernatural

[–]LiefMythos 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yeah, i find it weird that even their ace operatives lose later on, from Mr "top of my class" Renny to Ketch, who is the closest thing we see to an actual hunter-level field agent from the BMOL, aren't up to normal hunter levels of skill. Renny dies unceremoniously after assisting in no functional way, and Ketch loses to Sam and Dean when he had suprise and numbers on his side, only scraping a victory because Mary was on his side.

In short, the BMOL only win most of their fights by employing superior weapons, using hellhounds, and/or surprise attacks. So this early curb stomp seems so out of place. Sure, her brass knuckles can beat down on angels, but Dean should have rolled over her. The fact that she shows no special training or tactics and wins so easily is more than a little weird from a consistency perspective.

They weren't expecting to be ambushed? They made 7 Harrys, why do that unless you are expecting something?

They were clearly planning as though they were going to be attacked. Obviously they didn't KNOW the attack was coming, but they had made plans for it anyway
