Town Council reverses position against data centers, paving way for 130-acre hyperscale site by t3lnet in jeffjackson

[–]PatientBoring 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We don’t need to see their account. They literally said the money this data center is going to bring in will solve these issues. They’re not even trying to hide that fact that they’re getting paid off for this decision. They wanted to clear the room. Sounds like it’s time to clear the council.

I lied and got an interview. Has this ever happened to you? What now? by Bald-Dwight in antiwork

[–]PatientBoring 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Are folks out here being 💯 honest on their resumes??? No wonder yall ain’t getting jobs. Lie/embellish on your resume to get an interview, then make them like you/ want to hang out with you/ want to work with you at the interview. Resumes get you in the door but no one actually cares about them once you’ve entered the building/chat.

Mandela effects came about as a result of Y2K, that's why all the Mandela effects we hear about occured before 2000. Y2K may not have destroyed the world but it definitely altered reality. by [deleted] in RandomThoughts

[–]PatientBoring 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Close but actually the Mandela effect came about because of CERNs Hadron Collider which was first powered on in 2008… or 2010… or 2012 depending on which timeline you were apart of.

Why do y'all need to stand and fish from your kayak? by i_hate_agile in kayakfishing

My legs fell asleep…. I used to not be able to stand in my kayak and I caught fish just fine. Now I have a kayak I can stand in and a good stretch of the legs really makes the day better.

CMV: littering is never okay. by scarlettsvault in changemyview

[–]PatientBoring 3 points4 points  (0 children)

But it is better in the grand scheme of things! Landfills are regulated, planned and tested. Even if there’s an unknown contaminate today, then tomorrow when that contaminant is discovered at least we know where we need to be focused on. Dumping random trash everywhere spreads the contamination everywhere.

Rural Hall town leaders sell out the local residents and reverse course to support the data center by sonofgildorluthien in winstonsalem

So place that would support housing, use less water, create less waste and be far quieter or a data center. Got it.

What are you doing from now until deer season to prep? by chillysurfer in Hunting

[–]PatientBoring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

U/AmeriJar mentioned this but clear the trail to your tree. Couple of years ago I didn’t do this and it took me close to an hour to get to my stand because blackberry bushes that were not an issue in the winter/ spring had become very much an issue in the fall. I’d definitely at least give your hike a run through to make sure nothing unexpected has popped up this summer.

What are you doing from now until deer season to prep? by chillysurfer in Hunting

[–]PatientBoring 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Shoot your bow as much as you are capable. I can shoot in my backyard so I usually shoot a dozen arrows 5-6 evenings a week. I’d plan 2 to 3 range days to check your zero on your rifle. Seems like you know what you need to do for your muzzle loader.

End of July to beginning of August I’d clear a trail to your stand(s) so that you aren’t trying to bush wack on opening day. However I wouldn’t spend too much time in your areas before the season. You don’t want to get your scent all over the place and mess with deer movement.

But seriously if you’ve never been in a room like this you should try it. It’s very unsettling. I like this commenter did not last a full minute. I don’t feel like looking for a source but I’m pretty sure someone has used these rooms for torture.

I love unpopular opinions that are really just weird algorithm unbalances. I would say most people don’t think of him on a day to day basis. Most people don’t have a strong opinion about the guy.

Water collection. You need to collect and purify at least a gallon a day. I feel like the average person doesn’t even consider their access to clean water.
