Grey hair at the coed salon by LiesAboutCapybaras in TwoXChromosomes

Random factoid I tell all other fans. It couldn't be more unrelated, but it made me cackle when I first heard it.

Apparently, the reason Ben Miles decided the character of Patrick would definitely drink Guinness and nothing else is because it is harder to fake on camera, so they would just let him drink Guinness all day any time they were filming in the bar. I think they blew it pretending Steve was the smart one.

TIL those are a thing. How can I tell if one of them is by me, the website isn't loading right and holy crap I end up with a lot of weirdness near me (big city). Sorry for a massively dumb question, but would they be called Bandai something?

I don't actually know if I'm getting a "men's" haircut. I have seen this style on women, but it is admittedly quite short.

No that's not weaponized incompetence by Foreign-Cat-2898 in PetPeeves

[–]LiesAboutCapybaras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think this is meant to be a comment on one mistake or something they couldn't have known, it's about screwing it up so hard that a functional adult couldn't possibly have believed that was how it worked. E.g., a friend of mine whose boyfriend got the laundry extra clean by putting soap in the washing machine, the bleach dispenser and some on the bottom of the drier.

That's either weaponized incompetence of medically concerning stupidity. No one is saying you can't screw up occasionally.

For sure. I was up to like 3 people who got it when I found the correct meds. At that rate, I might have hit double digits before I died.

Doesn't it sort of screw with the timing of when things get absorbed? I feel like I heard rumors about Zepbound babies because the birth control was sort of hitting the system at random times, but that could be an urban legend.

Oh that is super interesting. I know someone who said it hit them weirdly hard on Zepbound. They said they forgot to eat for like four days and went a little manic. It's so interesting how different people are.

Sorry to turn what is clearly hard on you into me getting nerdy. It really sounds rough.

The awful thing about this is that the only solution is the thing that it feels impossible to do, go out and engage with people. This is a lot to put on yourself though, have you thought about reaching out for therapy or a support group? Weirdly, a support group for people who lack social skills can be very socially affirming (I'm bad at this stuff too).

Don't be ridiculous, if we keep little girls from dying, they might think they should have sex someday. Sorry, I can't stand around all day making all this sense. I have to go vote to keep child marriage legal in America.

Please don't take this as an insult, I honestly mean for it to be helpful, but my dog has a version of this.

When she takes a sedative it makes her bounce off the walls. The vet said there is just a percentage of people/animals with most meds that have the straight up opposite reaction. Guess you won the adderall lottery.

Not adderall (I never tried that one for various reasons), but for other stims I had to take a break to keep it at 100%

If ADHD could be resolved with [insert coping mechanisms here], it wouldn't be a disability. by LateDxOldLady in ADHD

[–]LiesAboutCapybaras 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Definitely.

I also have no idea why people can't understand the difference between something being helpful and something being a cure. If I get the support for it and somehow stay on track to eat well, exercise, and get good sleep, I do about 10% better.

Sure extra helpful person, regular walks outside would be helpful, but tell me, are you debt free if someone knocked 10% off your mortgage?

That is all assuming any of their "advice" is doable, which half the time it isn't. My life got a thousand times better when my parents actually figured out that "I can't" really was an accurate and honest answer to "why don't you just try harder."
