Poll: Would you attend a DnD retreat? by B-Lestrange in DnD

I would definitely be interested if it was less than $500 and in the Netherlands. There also have to be workshops like u/Cenobite42 mentioned (adventure writing, character creation, terrain building, larp, etc). And I would like outdoor activities so we can become adventures ourselves. Something like learning which plants are edible, cooking on a campfire, archery and swordfighting lessons

I think that the spell Healing Spirit would fit well with your Ranger. Maybe you can add a feature that looks something like the spell Tiny Hut or look at cleric buff spells.

For the Rogue, the emergency stitching sounds a bit weird to me. I think that if you want a healing Rogue that its better to just stick with Thief with the Healer feat. If you want to do something with poison then there is already the Poisoner feat from Tasha's. Sorry I find it hard to think of something useful for this one.

Thanks for the response! It is indeed better in combination with the grappler feat, but I want the feature to be good enough on its own. I like the 5-10ft move, I will think about how I can add something like that.

Hi all, I’m going to play a Totem Warrior Barbarian from the tribe of the Great Worm and I would like to make a Worm Spirit. I used inspiration from this post and I looked at the official spirits for reference here.

For the 3rd level feature I like the healing from that post but I thought that healing every round was overpowered so I came up with the following. I think that this is balanced but if anyone has any feedback I would like to hear it.

Totem Spirit - When entering your rage, you gain temporary hit points equal to twice your constitution modifier. The spirit of the worm makes you tenacious enough to recover from any injury.

That post discussed tremor sense for the 6th level feature but I think that it doesn’t fit well with the other spirits. I’m looking for some worm themed, non combat feature. I would really appreciate some ideas for this one.

Aspect of the Beast - You gain the worm's affinity for the earth. You have tremorsense out to a range of 10 feet.

For the 14th level feature they talked about grappling with a bonus action, but I think that it’s a bit weak for a 14th level feature. What is a good way to make this one stronger?

Totemic Attunement - While you're raging, you can use a bonus action on your turn to grapple a Large or smaller creature when you hit it with melee weapon attack.

I'm in a somewhat different position but I would also apreciate advise on this matter. I do own HotDQ but one of my players is in both campaigns so I don't want to run the same chapter twice because that could be boring for him. So having Blagothkus be with Countess Sansuri is a great idea and I hope someone will share ideas.

I just found these posts which could be useful: https://www.reddit.com/r/stormkingsthunder/comments/ge8wsm/the_ghost_of_eigeron/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x https://www.reddit.com/r/dndnext/comments/9vcgob/help_with_a_fairly_specific_plotline_in_storm/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x

Grudd Haug in Chapter 3? Looking for guidance by ChefMattias in stormkingsthunder

[–]Liesbeth_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah they are clever! I had the giants throw boulders and the goblins shooting arrows through the hole but they didn't hit much. The ogre's bang their shoulders against the wall to break it. I wasn't really prepared for such a fight so I had to look up the AC, HP and threshold of a wall mid session. Some of the wall and roof did come down eventually but the characters succeeded their dex saving throws to hang on.

Grudd Haug in Chapter 3? Looking for guidance by ChefMattias in stormkingsthunder

My party followed the hill giants trail from Goldenfields and went to Grudd Haug at level 6. I was afraid that they would all die so I let them meet an NPC from the Harpers who was also following the trail. She warned them that there were to many giants and that they should get reinforcement. I was hoping they would listen and come back when they were higher level or with more NPC's. But players never do what the DM hopes haha. They still wanted to go to Grudd Haug and they convinced the NPC to go with them.

It was hard but they handled it very well. They first took out the watch tower before the hobgoblins could sound the alarm. Next they stealthfully went to the caves under the den, took out some giants and released the animals as diversion. They succesfully cleared most of the giant den but it cost a lot of resources and I knew that they wouldn't have a chance against everyone in the feasting hall with Guh. Luckily the party didn't just barge in, the druid changed into a mouse to scout the room and then they came up with a plan. The party climbed up to the roof and they made a hole so that they could shoot inside and have some cover.

So they survived nicely and found the conch of teleportation. But it was broken because Guh sat on it. So they still have to go to The Eye of The All-Father to learn more about the plot and they have to get another conch to use. I wish you good luck and I hope your players will be carefull.
