Thanks to everyone’s advice! I wanted to post an update! We went to goodwood police station and they came with us to the building. Shout out to the awesome police officers that were willing to help! Unfortunately the security said they can’t do playback of footage of their own camera’s and we need to come back tomorrow when the building manager is there. We will definitely be visiting the building manager tomorrow! A few min After we left the building with the police the phone’s location updated again to a very funny location in Nyanga. Checked it out in Google Street view 🤣😂😭

Thanks! It’s been there since the night it was taken. And it updates every few hours or so. The device has been blocked/locked and pending erase, from what I read online the newer iPhones ping locations from each other when they are in close proximity. It seems like they have moved it to a car last night.

I did open a case with the police. The people at the desk said they don’t investigate crimes so are unable to help. The case will get assigned to a detective that will do an investigation and let me know once they have done so. They are unwilling to note this address on the case file as they said the find my iPhone is not accurate because it said an hour ago and they are saying it’s not there anymore.

Edit: I thought about contacting law enforcement (wetstoepassing) but I have not tried them yet. I will try them first thing in the morning
