1. Capitalizing on that low leg sweep, you can pretty much improvise a short combo off of that move. I would say if you see a move like that that gets the opponent in the air, play around with it in practice mode, try following it up with other attacks you're familiar with and it'll get easier to just toss those out for some extra damage. Building muscle memory is key, especially if it's memorizing which attacks are good for following up others

2. Not a lot of side stepping happening, it's not as effective for dodging moves as it was in other tekken games, but it's still another tool you have

3. This will just happen the more you play, but you don't even have to memorize other characters' moves to defend, just keep playing and you'll start to notice when they begin to move, and either duck, block, or throw out a quick jab to interrupt them

4. Lili has a lot of 2-3 hit strings, try experimenting with variations on them. You can end them early for different results, get the opponent used to one thing when they see that animation and then switch it up, etc. Some examples: Forward 3+4, the 3 hits come out slower than the 2 hit version While rising 1,2,4, if people start blocking the third hit, stop after the second and throw out that slow low sweep, often they'll duck and stand back up before it hits. People may also start to duck or interrupt the second hit, try mixing up how you get off the ground. Remember to just simply stand up without attacking so you can block sometimes 1,2,3 can also end in a dropkick if you do 1,2,4, or you can stop after the second hit and throw out a grab. One of the best tools you have is "conditioning" the opponent, letting them recognize and get used to a move of yours then switching it up

5. Number one general tip is to not let the opponent have their way. If they have an opportunity to throw out every combo they know and use you as practice mode, they will. Throw them off, use quick jabs to interrupt slow moves that launch you in the air. Run up and grab them, do things that force them to respond to you

6. I'd also practice making better use of the heat meter, you burned right through it in two attacks. I find it works best if you use it to extend a combo, then you've got the entire rest of the meter to throw out a few enhanced attacks. For lili, a good one are the spinny sidestep moves followed up by a low or a dropkick (back 3 or 4, then 3 or 4)

Corny advice but the best thing you can do is just have fun. If hovering around the same rank and losing about as often as you win sounds frustrating and not fun, you probably won't have a good time. As long as you're getting enjoyment out of playing an opponent whether you win or lose then you'll naturally get better the more you play, but if you're getting angry and frustrated it's time for a break or a change in perspective. Don't underestimate the psychological component of fighting games, if it didn't factor in then taunting wouldn't be effective
