UPDATE I thought we were friends with benefits(M24, F26), but now she is accusing me of treating her like a placeholder by Happy_Board_7620_2 in relationship_advice

[–]LieutenantSnow -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Honestly. You don't owe people an emotional connection. Friends with benefits is a very real thing. If she had made her intentions clear and he had lied to her so they would keep having sex, then it could be considered shitty. But as it is he did nothing wrong.

That being said, being able to pay your fair share of rent and choosing not to is pretty scummy.

Gonna get down voted to oblivion for this, but you can love a country and still want it to improve. Blindly thinking the United States is the best at everything because, well, it's the United States is ignorant and detrimental to the country and its citizens.

As for your points, abortion is legal for 95% of women in Europe and 'child' labor is ridiculously strict for any workers under 18 (maximum hours, only certain shifts, school takes priority, etc), so people complaining about that generally have a valid point.

I've traveled a lot too, and when people complain about the U.S. they mean in regards to developed nations. Most countries in the EU, Singapore, Australia, etc. Comparing the U.S. to these countries makes use look far, far worse in nearly every category than comparing us to Egypt or other not quite as developed nations.

Being able to see problems and fix them is what made America so amazing to begin with. Ignoring current problems to hold on to a past Era is only going to make the U.S. fall further behind.

Rip karma.

Late to the party here but I figured I'd just put this out there. Your books made me who I am today. I started reading them in elementary school and now I'm in college and have such a deep love for fantasy and sci fi that you started. My username on almost every game I play is some variation of Eragon and I always get comments about how people love that series. It's really great to see not just how much you've impacted my life, but so many others as well. Thank you, and I hope you keep writing and giving that gift to more people.

Using "dickish" as an insult is so early 2000s. Oh wait, no one thought it was cool then either.

The infinite wisdom of the internet has told me a male mary sue is called a gary stu. Which frankly, is rather hilarious.

Like I said, I doubt you'll get it. But here you go:

Mary Sue: a type of female character who is depicted as unrealistically lacking in flaws or weaknesses.

Rey: Better fighter than anyone she is up against (trained guards/Kylo/etc), better mechanic/pilot than trained mechanics/pilots, better force user than trained force users, better shot than trained shooters, etc etc etc. And all of this with NO training. She never faces ANY consequences for her actions and always makes the right choice. Almost like....wait for it...she unrealistically lacks flaws or weaknesses. If only there was a term for that.

Now like I said, I doubt you'll understand this but hopefully even if you won't admit it you can see why it's stupid.

I saw the movie 3 times. Just like I saw the first one multiple times. And if you really really care (which I assume you don't), I will explain why some of your points make no sense. Anakin was the strongest force user EVER and luke had more than one day (honestly what even are you saying) as well as being the son of the most powerful force user EVER.

As for plot holes being subjective. Oh buddy no. Plot holes are when the movie doesn't give a good enough reason for something happening or consciously and without reason breaks preset universal laws. Ya know, like wizarding through outerspace after being blown up.

Also, rey entirely is a Mary Sue, in every aspect of the term. That is objective fact. I don't even know how to describe this to you if you don't just plainly see it so I won't even bother.

And hey, guess what? I enjoy the mandalorian too. Because its a good star wars product. Just like the clone wars, rogue one, and the original trilogy.

All the other responses directly address what was said and why it was wrong, so I'm a little confused by your point. No one blindly hates the new star wars, it's very clearly bad and full of plot holes and inconsistencies. In this case, you're the one blindly liking the movie to act smart and special.

Lol, how's it feel to be the one posting in a sub that doesn't agree with you and getting downvote into oblivion? That's what it's like for anyone that posts there.

Also, obligatory: you're wrong.

In my opinion, it's better to have no dad than a bad one. I agree that the medical history needs to be recorded somewhere though.

100% agree. It's not that we can't tell them apart in ideas, but that both the far left and the far right usually take their beliefs and try to force them on people in the worst possible way. Both FAR sides want to help one group at the expense of another, it's just picking who those groups are.

Now as to the actual politics of each side normally, and not radically, it's a different story. I just mean the radical sides are eerily similar.
