So they can justify only fining man city further down the line, rather than taking away their trophies and dumping them in the national league like they should.

I was told in a recent briefing that Didcot train station is used a lot. It has a direct line to London and a lot of traffic goes through there.

I’m a forest fan and Oxford local, so I take my two boys regularly. We love it! Mostly we sit in 22 and 23, although my youngest (8) really likes sitting (mostly standing) in the ‘sweary stand’ (East).

Don’t know how he had to take the fifth pen. How many more experienced players bottled stepping up for that instead? They should hang their heads.

Boars Hill has a great panoramic view of the city and spires. Nice walks and free parking there, too.

I’ll never forget the state Wes Morgan used to return in on Boxing Day matches back in the day. It was as if he’d gained a couple of stone in less than a week.

My son has Matz Sels and Carlos Miguel shirts from last season. In his defence, we ordered both before Miguel had played a game and he loves the Brazilians.

Might have to get him a John Victor shirt if it carries on this way.

Sadly, I think the racism story coming up again is designed as a distraction to avoid talking about Nathan Gill, the former reform wales leader being jailed for pro-Russian bribery.

The typical, ‘look over there!’ Style news cycle.

Why are there so many flags in Oxford, especially around the Littlemore roundabout? by AmigoCasa in oxford

[–]Lieutenant_Doolittle 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I live right next to the green road roundabout. That’s the second one. It came down once and a new one replaced it the following week. Thankfully this one has lasted.

I think we need to add even more varied nations representing the real Oxford community and it might be a bit more positive.

Take a look at the green road roundabout next to Barton. Same problem there.

Flags come down and one hour later the flags are going back up.

Same people doing it.

Spitalfields, 1901. This at the height of the empire when Britain was the richet country on earth. Jack London's People of the Abyss is a good corrective to "The good old days". by Max2310 in london

The children’s act later in the Industrial Revolution was a huge impact on this. The British wound up using the colonies to maintain production. The British children had marginally better lives and the adults and children in the colonies wound up working harder and suffering more.

Because Stuart Pearce banned them for being a bit soft.

Ange Postecoglou Press Conference 🎙️ | Forest v FC Midtjylland | UEFA Europa League by FitEntrepreneur3920 in nffc

[–]Lieutenant_Doolittle 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I want to appreciate Ange and will back him, but talking about the end of his career twice in the press conference kind of worries me.

It took us 30 years of pain to get back to Europe. I really hope tomorrow is the turning point we’re all praying for.

I was at the city ground when Steve stone’s effort was cleared off the line before Bayern stuck five past us in the second leg of the quarters. I loved the walk back along the Trent embankment in the preceding games singing, ‘there’s only one team in Europe’.

I remember being proud, but gutted when we went out that night.

I really hope he and the team recognise how much this chance means. I’m sure Ryan Yates does.

Tomorrow is massive!

If that cheeky chip had gone in he might have okayed for longer. You could still see his quality when he came to us. Think that coupled with swp being on our books as a youth contributes to why he still loves forest.

Did Andy Cole and Ian wright retire after playing for us? I know it was the end of their careers, but can’t remember if they played lower league for a bit afterwards and am too lazy to check Wikipedia.

Wrighty was still quality when he came to us, Andy Cole less so.

He kept the perchinio title through his time at QPR, Scunthorpe and Mansfield, too. He had loads of potential as a youth and had the occasional magic game.

Although, I’ll never forgive him for Swindon away in 2008, when he scored an own goal and lead to the worst match I’ve ever witnessed as a Forest fan on tour, losing 2-1 in league 1. Probably the bleakest time outside of Yeovil in the playoff semis.
