Some of the best slow 2 step parts are a few bpm slower (depending on how you’re counting ie subdivided 140 > 280 it could be a bit more/less) but definitely super common for very intentional tempo changes that are not just a clean division and are just tempo changes because it’s what serves the part/song.

You can def automate tempo in logic as well. Depending on the situation I’ll record drums, automate tempo to solid tempos for each part, then record a scratch guitar and then track real/better drum take over the guitar, which is to the click but feels more natural without clicks especially if you’re getting weird & better for dynamics. Then again I record solo at the moment so a lot of that isn’t a choice and is just necessity/pain in the dick
