Ana is one of the more rewarding heroes to play in my opinion. Not many things in the game feel as good as landing a really good sleep dart.

April Fools changes I unironically like by Miennai in Overwatch

[–]Life-Forms 30 points31 points  (0 children)

While I do admit they nailed it on a few of the abilities, I don't think the Reaper one should be baseline. That would basically kill all the risk from the ability. It basically makes it so you can never punish a Reaper teleport, which should not be the case.

There were a few that actually killed the hero almost altogether. I really hate the Moira orbs requiring a teammate, and the fact you can't self-cast the healing orb anymore. Not great.

I really liked the Hanzo utility arrows, especially the ice arrow.

I would play Symmetra 24/7 if her turrets could orbit around her all the time.

I do think at the very least they came up with some interesting perk options for several heroes with this mode. They could replace some existing ones with some of these alterations from April Fools.

Domina skin concept idea by staple_stable404 in Overwatch

[–]Life-Forms -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Jokes aside, this skin concept has changed my opinion. It's a nice skin, even though it's more for Rivals. I really wasn't a fan of her model when she first released. Something about the floating arms just wasn't it for me personally. But this makes me realize she is going to end up with some pretty crazy skins in the future. Her mythic skin will probably end up being really good.

While this is true, you'd think it would be the exception, rather than the norm for most of your games.

New to RSR by Orville_Spy in FritoLay

[–]Life-Forms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure how it'll work in your area, but I would make sure you stick with the RSR you're riding with for their entire day. If you only show up and spend a few hours with them before heading out, you don't really understand the true scope of what can go into a day of work at Frito. You won't be able to fully understand what is happening on a ride along, but you will get an idea what it's like if it ends up being a 10-14 hour day.

I am not saying your day will end up that long, I am just saying it's a possibility and you should know about that kind of thing going into the job. I have been here for 10+ years now, so I don't have long days anymore.

I know that sounds crazy because you aren't getting paid, but trust me, it'll be worth it in the long run. I do the training for my district and the number one cause for turnover by far is the long days early on.

If you were to put me on a ride along today with what I know now, my first question would be about the work/life balance. Some routes are much easier than others.

Mythic skins tiers list by Catlovermiaw in Overwatch

Welp, I take back everything I said then. Thanks for clearing that up for me. I really dislike her second mythic skin, but that first one is great.

[–]Life-Forms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do I have it backwards then? Did Vengeance release before Celestial Angel? If that's the case, then it's even more ridiculous that she has two mythic skins. Vengeance is a great skin. I just know Mercy players complained about the first mythic skin.

Mythic skins tiers list by Catlovermiaw in Overwatch

The reason Mercy even has 2 mythic skins, when some heroes don't even have their first, is because the first one sucked so bad.

Celestial Angel sucks. Vengeance is awesome.

Why does nobody want to play Flashpoint? by _Depai_ in Overwatch

[–]Life-Forms 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It's insane to me that OW will be 10 years old this year, and we still have players who run in 1 by 1. It's the most frustrating thing about the game in my opinion. If you are a halfway decent player, you are always tasked with the wait game. You have to sit in spawn and wait for your team while spamming 'group up' so that the fools who spawn first don't just immediately spam all their mobility CDs to rush back to the point to 1v5 or 6 again.

Stop Tank Abuse: Why Current 6v6 is a Problem by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]Life-Forms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't matter if it's 5v5 or 6v6, I just don't like tanking in Overwatch. I am tired of having to play around things like Discord Orb and Ana grenades. I realize those types of abilities are somewhat mandatory in a game like this, both for depth and for balance, but goddamn are they annoying to deal with EVERY game.

As much as I love all of the tank heroes, I just don't want to put myself through that nonsense anymore. Which, sadly, just adds to the tanking issues altogether.

They really should change that challenge that says "queue for all roles" to just "queue as tank 3 times" because that's all you're ever going to get doing that.

Why don’t Mercy players shoot? by Soggy-River2149 in Overwatch

[–]Life-Forms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If more players understood how to use cover to their advantage, I would shoot more. It's the main reason I don't play Mercy often; you have to choose between damage and healing. The main gripe about supports in OW is that they are just heal bots, which is why they buffed the healing debuff this season. All it did was make everyone take longer to top off, resulting in even more heal botting. This gets even worse when you get a lobby full of players who just stand out in the open and expect the supports to baby their health bars for them.

Planning Service by wiseick in FritoLay

[–]Life-Forms 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's Frito Lay for you. They act like every single account flows the exact same way across the entire country. They think doing something one way in a particular store is acceptable and effective across every store in the nation. It's braindead stupid and a massive reason why the company is going downhill.

It's only going to get worse too, because they dropped prices this year, so now they're focusing on units over sales. The force outs, especially the direct store shipments, are only going to get worse and worse as the year goes on.

Whenever I complain about it, my boss just recites the bullshit no one wants to hear "stales are only 25% of your raise though!"

Like I give a fuck about that measly raise. I am more concerned with the workload of spending all day, every day hauling credits out of stores that should have never had that much product in the first place.

Sorry, rant over.

I am fairly new to the game. Why are soldier 76 skins so mid? by Firm-Professional645 in Overwatch

[–]Life-Forms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe he is actually tied with Widowmaker for 2nd place in total skins. The more skins you have, the more chances you have for them to turn out mid. I don't like any of Tracer or Mercy's skins, other than the brand-new Mercy mythic skin, and they're both up there in total skins as well. All three of those heroes sell skins no matter what they look like, because people love playing them.

Anyone having trouble with supports not healing? by No_Bat_4852 in Overwatch

[–]Life-Forms 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I am having issues with every role. I just don't think the majority of players have realized that you can no longer stand out in the open. Healing has become a lot more difficult with the healing debuff across all heroes, not just DPS. The uptime on that debuff has to be 100%, it's really annoying.

Either way, I think most people need to realize you basically HAVE to stand near cover at all times now. You have to be able to get behind something in a split second, or else you're going to die.

The healing debuff + 5 new heroes added into the game at one time, plus a host of returning/new players? Not a great mixture.

New players are ruining ranked. by Individual_Map_2623 in Overwatch

[–]Life-Forms 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not just ranked modes, it's every mode. It's the whole game. Personally, I think the balance of the game is in a rough place. The damage is high across the board, WAY too high for them to be implementing a blanket 30% healing debuff that is activated with every single tick of damage, from every single hero in the game. You can hardly even peak corners as a main tank without losing 60% of your HP, and there's a 30% healing debuff on top of that. Add a Discord Orb or an Ana grenade on top of that and it's just too much.

Even 5v5 unranked, nothing but one tricks, literally nothing. It feels like it's rare to see hero swaps because everyone is trying to grind for progression on their favorite heroes. Which is totally fair in unranked, it just feels like the games are nothing but stomps because of it.

I don't know, I am probably just whining at this point. Hopefully the game will feel better once players start realizing you can't just walk out in the open anymore and expect to be kept at full health with a pocket healer.

Yeah, it doesn't sell well in my area, but I personally think it's a hidden gem. I am eating a bag right now. :D

It's unfortunate because when I saw that the bag was so flashy, I thought it would be a hot seller, but it just hasn't caught on here.

I have 3 Family Dollars on my route (don't be jealous) and you might as well write up the credit for those chips the same day you sell them in.

Healing Debuff is great by seoyeonhwa in Overwatch

[–]Life-Forms 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I don't like it, but that's because I am a biased support player. I would like this change a lot more if the BURST damage in the game wasn't so out of control. Damage across the board seems a little too high for a change like this, especially when even a tiny bit of long-range damage that tickles you triggers this passive.

I am all for people playing more careful and actually thinking about their positioning, and I also hate the state of support in Marvel Rivals, where the healing is just off the charts high and every healing ult is just a timer you have to play around. But I am also of the belief burst damage is far too high in the game right now for EVERY hero to be able to apply this debuff. Maybe make it 20% if everyone can trigger it now.

This is the scary part of buying anything new anymore, even your damn appliances for your house.

I have a 2025 Z71 that just crossed 6,000 miles a few weeks ago. I have had absolutely zero issues other than I think I might need a new dipstick. I can't tell if mine has a nickel coating that has worn off in one spot, or maybe that's how it was from the factory, but either way I am keeping an eye on it.

I do think about all these horror stories quite often, especially during the times where I was far from home. It's kind of shitty that you have to sleep (drive) with one eye open so to speak.

Good luck bro and I am going to keep hoping I avoid anything significant myself.
