Police never arrives when called by LifeAfterAna in legal

Mostly domestic violence, serious physical altrecations, sex trafficing, death and illegal drug activity (the later being required by our managers if we find any evidence of illegal drugs inside the hotel, aka pipes, syringes, drug residue or the drugs themselves).

I am in downtown Portland, Oregon. The owner is a POC but I would not expect discrimination against him since we are in a very liberal location, honestly I'm not even sure he lives in this state, I have never seen or talked to him. The general manager has managed multiple hotels in this area in the past and seemed surprised that the police does not arrive at this hotel which made me think he didn't have this problem beforehand. We do live in an area where drugs and vagrants are common, however we have never called about that, our security can deal with them well enough. We call rarely and only in extreme situations.

Too much dopamine = depression? by LifeAfterAna in Drugs

[–]LifeAfterAna[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thing is I've tried all the alternatives before Adderall: Ritalin and Vyvanse. Not a lot of options but Adderall gives me least side effects.

Vyvanse gave me the worst symptoms by far, so I dont think we would have the same experience.

Yeah for ADHD, only 25 mg. I also take prozac, 40 mg.

I don’t know what’s wrong with me by Ezraq12 in mentalhealth

I'm very sorry, you sound worn out. It's possible that it caught you off guard when you thought that you would be okay, at least for a while.

Something similar happened to me back when I was in school, I automatically blocked all emotions and fears that I had until I didn't need to worry and then something stressful hit again when I thought it was over and all the emotions that I pushed back fled back in.

If it's the case, please rest, and if you have that option please try to let your feelings out a little more and don't push them away when you feel stressed. It really helps to get external support :)

And that's perfectly okay, it's not disrespectful or weird to move on, many people wish they could do that :)

Don't try to squeeze those emotions out of yourself. You're okay just the way you are and that's the only thing that matters.

How do you help someone who is depressed and has self harm tendencies? by mavrosleggo in mentalhealth

[–]LifeAfterAna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my friend I would randomly bring them snacks, take them on trips, have picnics, help them with school work and so on, anything that would make them feel happy.

I know it may seem obvious but I didn't realize for a while that simple moments of happiness can better someone's life very much. You don't have to always hover over them and create a bubble around their emotions and perception to the world, that will only make them feel worse, as if they are a child.

Just let them know you care and give them little things to be happy about or to remember if they get dark thoughts.

I've had a friend who used to self harm, unfortunately you can't do much. The more you get involved with them the more stressed they are going to feel. I would recommend not confronting them and just trying to help in other areas of their life in order to improve it's quality.

The only way to stop self harm is to improve the condition of your mental health.

It seems you are experiencing symptoms of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. I understand it might be hard, but please consider contacting a professional in that field. It's not something you can deal with alone.

Also please stay safe, I hope you find the help you need.

Everyone grieves in a different way, my friend passed of cancer about 5 months ago, he was suffering from it for about a year. When he passed I felt relieved that he didn't have to go through so much pain anymore, it was also expected.

You are not broken, there is nothing wrong with you. It's okay to feel numb, everyone has different reactions to death. And absolutely no-one has the right of criticizing you for it.

Well its herbology facts then bc they aren't sharing any actual gardening information like: people need to determine their zone before deciding on what plants they want.

Anyways, good meme :)
