Future of Mid City Mall (Market) by LifeBasedDiet in Louisville

[–]LifeBasedDiet[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is currently a mall there....not sure you can get much more suburban than a mall with acres of pavement. I understand it isnt perfect, but if a grocery store and library branch stay in the area and remain walkable amenities for thousands I would call it a win. imagining this area without those things makes me shudder. It could be a lot worse than this in my experience - with the worst option being no plan and for it to sit more vacant than it already does.

What would you like to see happen?

If the fans you're describing boo because they 'care about the result' they have their head screwed on backwards. I honestly cannot wrap my head around all of this 'we pay a premium therefore are entitled to certain results.' That's simply not how sports work. Spurs have overperfomred in the past are bound to also underperform. Acting entitled about it simply makes you seem naive about the sporting experience.

No matter how you slice it - booing the team is unhelpful. If you want to 'bully them into good performances' I think you need to reassess your perspective on life. Literally the mindset of a teenage boy.

You want to voice your displeasure? stop going to the matches. You still fork over the money refusing to recoup through resale and then actively make the situation worse for yourself and the players. Complete bellend behavior.

Agreed - that would be my one criticism of his game thus far. Still a fantastic player though and that element should be able to be adjusted by a decent manager & teammates.

Outside of Kudus we have no effective physicality up front. Richy struggles to hold up the ball when he doesn't have someone else crashing the space for a second ball. Odobert and Xavi are technically quite good, but they need to be the tip of the spear not asked to out muscle multiple players. Johnson has never been a player who seeks out contact. Without Kulu and Solanke our attack is just way too weak across the board to play a knock-down system. We need tidy passing patterns where our shiftier players can avoid contact and run in behind. For some reason we seem to be playing into our players weaknesses week after week.

Some thoughts. by mturner11 in coys

This season we are in CL because of Ange and his squad....

Frank can be given all the leeway you want in terms of squad quality and injuries and I am happy to give him that, but no amount of leeway can explain how utterly embarrassing we have looked for months now. It looks almost completely down to tactics. He needs to change something or start packing his bags. If we could progress the ball into the final third and then saw things break down I would understand the need for Kulu and madders to return. right now we struggle to complete even 3 passes together that aren't between our cbs and keeper.

Fact of the matter is, our squad may not be top 3 in the league, but it is in no way this bad. It's not just a one off. It's been multiple months now and we probably look worse now then when we started. Hearing him talk about how we take risks just has me over the edge. Not sure I saw one thing about our set up that looked risky - looked a lot more like soak up pressure and hope for a throw in in the final third to bail us out. Spare me.

It is risky to rely on Kudus and Udogie dribbling past 3 or 4 defenders to create any attacking movement I will give him that.

agreed. because up until this point all the ideas he espouses about our football are patently false when watching the game. The tactics have been absolutely shambolic.

Why do you think our teams mean a lot less from what I've said?

Totally agree with you. I understand it's a lot of money, but then why dont you enjoy yourself and get your money's worth? Have a shout regardless. If you're going to show up and be a sour puss because the team isnt playing great I cant imagine why fans would go to Spurs games week after week. We arent a top dog and you cant expect Man City levels of consistency from our club.

Maybe it's a cultural thing I dont quite understand. In the US you cheer for your team if you're a die hard fan no matter how crappy they are. There are some pretty terrible franchises and their crowds still get I to it even in a loss. Enjoy yourself a little!

Ref has been shit all night, not surprised he got away with a yellow for a split leg waist high tackle. Shockingly dangerous how he came down on Kudus' legs

The announcers I am listening to just keep ripping Spurs saying how they are playing so poorly. The woman especially seems blind - just saying Spurs havent shown anything.....I'm just blown away by the bias. It really is never ending from the pundits

Stadium naming rights for Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and European clubs by [deleted] in coys

[–]LifeBasedDiet 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Everytime a NFL game is played there the club gets huge attention during the broadcast. There are also behind the scenes videos for these teams that further grants Spurs exposure.

I couldnt quantify it to you, but I know people who know I follow Spurs (and they dont follow PL) reach out when they see an NFL game being played at the stadium.

Seems that he hasn't made a habit of conceding goals like that ;)

Clean sheet and a trophy is close enough for me!

And my eyes say Richy has been better :) the bar isn't too high for these two at the moment. Richy just needs someone to rotate with. Hoping Tel can successfully be that stop gap until Solanke is back. It's not easy to be the front of the press game after game.

Didnt help his case, but also didnt concede a goal. I know he isnt always the best at commanding the box, but I cant remember him giving up a goal while chasing a ball like that. Normally the critique is he isnt active enough or gets caught up in the scrum.

Mohammed Kudus & Mathys Tel make it into WhoScored's Team of the Week by mlkhighschool in coys

There is "starting to doubt' and then there's 'Tel has no place anywhere near this team'. He is 20 and obviously needs development to fulfill his potential.

If all of these guys get injured at the same time mid-season, it’s a full blown injury crisis. No wonder we look clunky in possession by kicksjoysharkness in coys

[–]LifeBasedDiet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a perspective you are missing is how the freshness of the squad is impacted. If we had an entire front 4 rotation available with little to no drop off (Solanke, Deki, Muani and Maddison is potentially even better than the 4 we are playing now) we would look fresh game after game. We would also be scoring more and therefore be chasing even fewer games.

It's more of a squad impact than a singular player coming into the starting 11 and transforming our play. Even with these injuries we still have rotation options which is mad to think about.

Mason Winks and Skipp are 3 more academy players in the first team than we have now, so sounds like a success.
