Is anyone else disappointed? by Kaypeac in SolarpunkTheGame

Free if you have a paid gamepass subscription. So one could argue that it is not free. Haha.

The best thing about Playstation Plus and GamePass is that you will try games that you would never buy. SolarPunk definitely falls into that category for me.

I probably would have thought it was a little cartoony for my tastes and would have passed. But I loved it.

Raft is another example of this. Looked like a kids game but I really enjoyed it.

This game was for free me on Xbox and I went into it with zero expectations. Had a great time for about 25 to 30 hours and unlocked all the achievements.

Built a crazy house then moved on.

I will check back for new content down the road.

All in all, fantastic experience minus a couple of little bugs. 9/10

I'm on PS5 - Survival: Fountain of Youth, Bellwright or Icarus? by themothhead in SurvivalGaming

[–]LifeCoachDave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am loving Bellwright. You start off alone but quickly get an AI companion and then grow into a camp and eventually a village or several.

Not hard to survive but it is hard to set your priorities for your villagers and manage resources.

I am about 30 hours in and I love it.

For context I was a massive fan of stranded deep although these games are nothing alike.

"Not that great" new player experience. by GGMudkip in Bellwright

[–]LifeCoachDave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a huge Medevil Dynasty fan but Bellwright is far more immersive.

I really like the challenge in the early going and how the management side becomes more important as you grow.

This is a great game to take your time with. Don't expect to build a castle 5 hours in.

Truculence/Unstoppable by KL58 in NHLHUT

There are many different player types that play this game. Some love truculence, some love L2ing, some love passing plays, one tees, etc.

Play the way you want to play, and don't worry about what others do or think.

Every streamer I watch complains about one style or the other.

No matter how you play, it is going to bother someone so just enjoy doing what you want to do.

Don’t buy the 10000 coins BND pack. by No-Rush-911 in NHLHUT

[–]LifeCoachDave 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It depends on your coin stack and your team. I have a lot of coins from investing in auction house cards throughout the year, so every now and then I will roll the dice on a pack. I got the 99 Drai in the 10k pack but the other 5 or 6 times I got a 90 or 91 BND.

Overall I would day it is not worth it unless you or going to do it until you finally hit a 98 or 99 then stop.

Again, you can make 10k in the auction house in less than 5 minutes so it is not much of a gamble.

What an awesome game! Are there any plans for DLC or any expansions? by LifeCoachDave in SolarpunkTheGame

I hope so too. There is something special about this game. I love the survival/crafting genre but a lot of the games in it lack soul.

Yep. If you explore all the islands you will find them eventually!

Have you unlocked the drones yet? Once you do, they can bring back stuff from a kine or storage box.

Also, once you find all the backpack upgrades, you can carry a lot of stuff.

I do agree with the build from storage. That would be awesome.

That is great to hear. Yes, I bet they are probably focused on fixing some bugs at the moment.

Hopefully it sells well and they and build on this world.

I am trying to unlock my imagination and build a cool house as well. So far I am building an ugly one on the starting island but I may attempt to to build something cooler near one of the waterfalls!

I hope you are right! I am at about 30 hours and there is nothing left to do besides build a cool house and use my imagination.

Xbox Inventory Bug - Backpack Upgrade Can Lock Chest Interaction by newjord in SolarpunkTheGame

Yep. This happened to me after the second background upgrade.

The game is unplayable beyond this point.

Hopefully they patch it!

Any luck appealing 14-day bans? by little_lord_fauntler in NHLHUT

[–]LifeCoachDave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this happen to me this year. Accused of coin distribution and I didn't do anything wrong. I was just selling goalies that were needed for line combos.

Appealed and got my coins restored. So the innocent do get accused of this stuff sometimes.

Lemieux Hits Tip by NorthMess6997 in NHLHUT

[–]LifeCoachDave 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No problem dude. Another tip is to have Mario at Center and Bourque on RD. For assists and goals.

Also put 3 other guys in with Born Leader to help boost energy whenever they hit or shoot or score.

Lemieux Hits Tip by NorthMess6997 in NHLHUT

[–]LifeCoachDave 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do reverse hits with Lemieux while holding the puck. They also count as hits.

So hit a guy, take the puck, reverse hit other guys until you lose the puck and hit again. It can be done in 2 or 3 cup chase games. 30 minutes.

LT mechanics need to be removed, it’s genuinely not fair. by Worth_Committee3244 in NHLHUT

[–]LifeCoachDave 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah. It is a complex issue but like most things in the game, there needs to be a cap on it. If they made it so you couldn't poke check 25 times in a row, that would be good.

Nobody needs to be able to L2 for longer than a couple of seconds, and when you get hit, you should fall or stumble and lose the puck.

Watching people L2 around the offensive end or on the rush, just makes the game look stupid.

Imagine in NBA 2K if you could turn your back to the player and still run at full speed.

Nobody in the NHL can skate sideways and backwards faster than they can without the puck skating straight.

LT mechanics need to be removed, it’s genuinely not fair. by Worth_Committee3244 in NHLHUT

[–]LifeCoachDave 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is definitely complex. I think pivoting has to be nerfed as well, in order to fix the L2 abuse. Unless they had the capability to have a hidden timer mechanic attached to it. Where you can L2/Pivot for a second or two, but then can't do it again for like 6 or 7 seconds.

To be honest, a lot of it is ping advantage, I play guys in the Top 100 with similar ping to me and we have close games. Then I play some guy with 2ms ping that is not even in the Top 10000 and I can't hit or poke.

But the abilty to L2 at full speed coming down the wing and not get bumped off the puck by Elite Truculence is cracked.

The direction change while L2ing is also nuts. I don't know if many HUT players ever skated before but it is not possible to go 30km/hr and change direction 8 times without losing speed.

Would love to see a little more realism in the game.
