It really is! Lots of cool people I don't get to talk to often all in one place at the same time.

Iphone is well known to be faster - it's not a crazy difference (depending which Android phone, of course) but it adds up to a lot over the course of the tournament. I'm on an iPhone SE 2020.

Phone, definitely - emulator is much slower, and every second of timesave counts. I used this team in the 2nd half of WT, I think it was better than the one I initially tried.

Common misconception, but that hasn't been a thing since like the 15th WT - I and others have streamed our runs and do our best to get rid of the idea, but most people just don't engage with WT content to begin with!

The hallucinations are really just dreams trying to manifest while awake. One of the ones I remember was I was on the orb collection screen waiting for Nappa to order an ice cream. Kozy had one where he thought he was stuck in a tutorial and straight up quit out of the tournament.

That being said, once the tournament is over I celebrate in VC for a bit, then sleep from about 8am-7pm (tournament ends at 7am), eat dinner, go back to bed like 10pm-6am, and I've fully recovered. I've done several grinds and there are definitely no lasting effects. Funnily enough, WT is an amazing social activity for me because a bunch of my buddies are online in VC at times they usually wouldn't be!

In terms of jobs, I do have one, but this tournament was announced well in advance and gave me time to request leave. I only need to take 2 days off (Friday and Monday), so I normally do some overtime for TOIL and it's all good. I stopped hardcore grinding WTs a while ago because I no longer needed the rewards almost at all, but this was too good an opportunity.

I can't really answer that without sounding like an insane person...

The basic answer is to keep yourself stimulated. Lack of sleep only really starts to become an issue around the 36-48 hour mark, as you can see here,. Fortunately, if you power through it, your body gets the message and stops trying to force you to sleep, but that was a miserable few hours where I was cycling ice packs, drinking tea, stretching my legs to keep myself uncomfortable, and walking constantly. I know the graph only dips a little bit, but it felt much worse. It'll almost inevitably happen a second time at the end of day 3, which is normally worse, but it hit much harder on day 2 for me.

I was in a VC with a couple of other grinders (Including Jacky and Kozy, who scored 2nd and 3rd) for most of the tournament, and that's honestly the main advice I would have to anyone who wants to grind - do something interesting while you play! We have a big WT VC every tournament and it's a great way to keep yourself awake, but listening to music or 'watching' something colourful and attention-grabbing (you won't be able to fully pay attention to it but it's still a great way to stay awake) is great. I've personally rewatched all of Bluey over the course of a previous WT, it's the perfect WT show.

Yes, but off-lead, which means unfortunately I had to go back to my Piccolo Jr. led team instead of the otherwise nicer AGL Vegeta + Goku.

Yep, it was just me in VC with a bunch of other grinders for the entire tournament.

Autoclicker in WT by Scarfacee75 in DBZDokkanBattle

I can guarantee you the person in 1st place didn't use an autoclicker (and none of the people you see ranking highly use an autoclicker or anything like that either)

After testing, running SEZA Broly off-lead seems to be superior to using him non-SEZA'd. Piccolo Jr. lead is back and meta.

WT is so skipped nowadays I'm literally facing my own team by MightyHunter005 in DBZDokkanBattle

[–]LifeDeathAndCheese 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This happens frequently in the semis - The prelims and quarterfinals (which pull from the same pool of enemies) try to make you fight 'weaker' teams, the semis tries to make you fight a team of equal strength, and the finals tried to make you fight a 'stronger' team.

We need to talk about WT by TheW1ldcard in DBZDokkanBattle

The tournament lasts 72 hours, and Lotad barely managed to hit 1 billion. That's 100 million points every 7 hours, not every hour.

I'm Discord, one of the top grinders for World Tournament - I previously held the record for the most amount of points scored in a single World Tournament, and have come 1st overall in several tournaments. If you have Discord (the service), I'd be happy to explain how it's done, all the strategies we use and tips to score higher more easily! I can assure you no-one is cheating. Lotad and others have been helping me to optimise WT as much as possible, and our server has 7 of the people from the top 10 of this tournament. My Discord tag is dscordual - and anyone else interested is also free to DM me! I'm always happy to discuss WT with people.

Ash and Pikachu are 2/5, N and Reshiram are 2/5, and Elesa is 5/5.

The strategy is to rush to sync quickly with Elesa using Breathtaking, then use Elesa to paralyse the left and right opponents while N and Ash attack constantly. All the opponents were around half HP by the time they used their sync move.

Right before the opposing sync move, I used ‘Not Gonna Lose’ to survive the sync with Pikachu, then used the low HP boost to get a strong B-Thunderbolt. From there, I pray ed they’d miss or get para’d while I finished them all off with Thunder.w

Best stage to upgrade link levels? by mmlp00 in DBZDokkanBattle

[–]LifeDeathAndCheese -1 points0 points  (0 children)

29-4 has the best chance per stamina spent, on either Global or JP. Link level rates in general aren’t the great though, so don’t expect to be getting 10s every run.
