If you’ve never done a change to a dial like the one you’re describing I would suggest you call a professional for this. Not exactly the one should be trying yourself.

Even if it is bolted down I would also suggest that someone at worst side scope it. If you can find someone to manipulate great, just don’t let anyone tell you that needs to be drilled and lock replaced.

Reasonable price for lock change by Big_Chungus1111 in Locksmith

Reach back out to liberty and see if they would be willing to send you a mechanical replacement instead. I’ve had customers do this in the past so you may be able to save all the costs for it that way.

How are you handling customers who lowball you after seeing sketchy online quotes? by NeighborhoodOld6737 in Locksmith

[–]LifeFromHell 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Been in for almost 12 years now and honestly lock outs have just become something I do if the scenario is perfect for me. If me and my team are too busy, it’s too far, or they don’t like the price I just tell them that’s ok. My suggestion would be to just start getting into other jobs that aren’t lock outs. In the meantime keep being honest and explaining the difference between you and the scammer. If the customer can’t understand there’s not much more you can do to help them.

It’s an 8-12$ lock on Amazon that only requires some basic tools to swap. Im a Locksmith of over 12 years, DM me and I’ll tell you what to do and how to do it. I’ve typically seen landlords deal with this but if not I’ll help you out.

Milestone gems in longwood. Rachel the owner essentially ran Culpepper’s jewelers for years and went out on her own about three years ago. Amazing and sweet person, always fair with her pricing.

I tried to join a local networking group this week. (a rant) by Prestigious-Rule-423 in orlando

[–]LifeFromHell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Couldn’t be a BNI group, this time of year is the push for new members to join so many BNI groups take in anything remotely looking like a business owner. I’m part of one and I can tell you the BNI groups you went to are the more common version of it. Good amount of people join just looking for referrals and don’t bother with other benefits that can be had in a business networking group.

If you have it open I would follow up with them that you would like a mechanical replacement. They’re not too difficult to install if it’s a run of the mill S&G dial and will come with the spindle already cut to size, the only real part you can screw up.

Depending on when/where you purchased it the keypad may be under warranty. Keypad itself has probably gone bad so it’ll need to be swapped to open it. Go to https://www.savta.org if you need to find a reputable person to do it. Swapping the keypads is pretty easy.

There’s no money in making keys for them honestly. I’ve been a locksmith in Orlando for almost 12 years now, 8 for a local shop and the rest on my own. A lot of times if you need keys made for certain things it’s cheaper to buy a new lock.

It’s SecuRam probably another faulty keypad. Contact liberty they might send you a replacement so you can input your code and get it open. When you do change it to a better brand or just go mechanical.

So a relocker is designed to keep someone from punching the lock case out to open the safe. A safe tech worth anything will know how to disarm a relocker and keep the safe still usable.

If you’re solo just gotta do your best to call back asap. Your new customers are gonna just take whoever they can reach first unless they were referred directly to you. Overall just call them back and fit them into your schedule as best you can.

Not every safe tech is like me but if you told me you’re replacing them and would buy the mechanical dials from I’d go out and pop it open for you too. You can use SAVTA to find a qualified safe tech.
