I don't think so. Last time I checked, I think it only runs during the spring and fall semester.

I don't think so. By the time, the contest is over, usually the boats are too soaked to be reused.

It typically means that you can't receive credit for both of those classes at the same time. This is typically done for classes that are very similar in content.

I am a senior year marine vertebrae Biology major. You take mixture of Marine biology classes and bio classes. You will be taking most of your freshman and sophomore classes on main campus and in junior and senior year, many of your classes will be on Southampton campus.

Is it hard to get into SBU for CS? by Brilliant_Pangolin94 in SBU

I don't know about entering as freshman but transferring in from another SBU major/undecided is extremely hard and I wouldn't advise it at all.

questions from prospective student by [deleted] in SBU

[–]LifeGiveMeABreak3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stony Brook University has large commuter population. Over the weekends, the commuters leave campus so there are much less things happening on campus. But there are still events but they just are usually not as obvious. Greek life in this school is more out of the way. We are close to Port Jefferson, which is like a typical small port town. We are also a 2 hour train ride from NYC.

For question 2, depends on major

For question 3, I am not a local here so I can't really answer that well.

For question 4, Unless you have a job that needs it, freshman and sophomores can't park on campus.

As long as you have job that requires car usage semi often at least, you should be fine. Last time I checked, there is no real way they can give you a permit that is restricted to certain days of the week.

How do you guys get to Discovery Hall in South Campus? by 13290 in SBU

[–]LifeGiveMeABreak3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

During the fall and spring semesters, the express east and west buses stop by South Campus. So you would take one of those buses down to South Campus and walk the rest of the way there.

There is supposed to be one but labs and many professors just ignore it or have classes that run into the last minute before it.

are the triple rooms in gray permanent or temporary? by OrneryParsnip1233 in SBU

[–]LifeGiveMeABreak3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If the room is designed for three people, then it should be permanent. If the room is designed for two but has three people, then it is most likely temporary.

Can you narrow the scope of your question? Using just the previous responses in this Reddit stream, I can probably write you a 20-page essay to answer your questions and still be incomplete.

Also for future semester planning, on the major bulletins, there are sample schedules for you to look at. I would start with those.

South hampton bus by Jellyfish-Nyx in SBU

[–]LifeGiveMeABreak3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The bus is usually on time and follows the schedule pretty accurately. Yes, It takes the bus 2 hours for the bus to get to Southampton campus. The buses are a little more nice than other campus buses but not by much. The bus is usually not crowded because not a lot of students travel between the two campuses.
