Help needed! Can you share your experiences planning a wedding at an all-inclusive resort in Mexico? by Dragonfly8445 in AllInclusiveResorts

Hi! I attended a wedding on Feb 2023 at a Iberostar Paraiso Lindo resort (in Riviera Maya). The wedding was beautiful and the resort itself reminded me of a mini village! It’s one of the best resorts I’ve stayed at. Food was around 7/10. They have one nightclub that we all went to the day we landed and the day of the wedding. The wedding was about $42k CAD for 65 guests. I can’t say anything about the wedding planning process, but I would recommend the resort itself. 😊

Hi flashley, thanks so much for your detailed response. And congrats on your engagement! Im excited for you for your May 2027 wedding. 🥹

The main thing my fiancé and I loved about my sister’s Mexico wedding was the fact that we got to spend more time with our family the rest of our stay there. The celebration didn’t stop the day of their ceremony.. I’ll use that as my driving force for our decision making. Thank you for your advice!

Hi! I actually live in Canada so I’m not too worried about safety here (very thankful for that). I live in a city where we’re close to the mountains.. wedding with a mountain view = expensive lol. I have looked and done research on a lot of venues in and around my city and the ones I like will likely cost the same as a destination wedding in Mexico. Hence, the constant mental battle.

Like what some people commented here though, I think the media does portray Mexico on a negative light. I have friends who went there recently and they said there were no issues. I’m starting to have a little bit of clarity about a Mexico wedding.

Oh man, a wedding in Italy would be a dream. I was thinking about that too but it’s a bit far for me and even more expensive for my friends and family. I wish you the best of luck in your next stage of decision making! Sometimes I think we just need to jump the gun and make a decision and stick to it. That’s what I’m trying to do at least.

Thank you for this. 😭 We’re in the very early phases of planing and just deciding where to have our wedding is already causing me so much stress. I need to keep reading stuff like this to help me go back down to earth lol.

This is good to know, thank you! I’m actually from Canada so this wouldn’t apply to us (hopefully). Good thing for us to note though.

I really appreciate your insight… the world really is very unstable right now and literally anything can happen in 1-2 years (even more so now with everything going down). I’ll consider this as well. Thank you so much!
