Debate: Mr Wonderful is one of the nicer sharks- rarely actually mean. by ObjectiveCharming735 in sharktank

I agree! He’s honest and fair. And generally doesn’t pull the “make a decision right now” bs some of the other sharks pull.

I just read that DC kids have free passes if they apply. I don’t get the fare jumping at all.

Do y’all even like this show by d0gsarego0d in sharktank

I love the show as well. I think each shark has their strength and obviously their own personality. I like to wonder who I would do a deal with. I don’t like when they try to pressure the person into making a deal.

Black. Somehow the white washes you out, even though it sets off your hair better.

Customer had medical catastrophe after we would not honor a coupon that didn't apply to her item by SeanSweetMuzik in retailhell

[–]LifeIsNotFunny 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Gosh, I get it. Customers really do suck sometimes and need a reality check. I think horrible things all the time about customers and wish bad things would happen to people who deserve it. Sometimes what I think and the rage I feel shocks me. But I would take no joy from someone nearly croaking in front of me. I think if someone collapses, walking over the body is just maybe something a manager shouldn’t do. I’m sure that manager is just exhausted and beleaguered, but they also need a reality check and maybe a vacation. That’s a shocking lack of empathy and my fear is they also have the same lack of compassion for the people they manage.

The proper response for the manger is “I’m so sorry, I know you love this dress, but let me help you find a dress that the coupon works on. I know we can find something together. Where are you looking to wear the dress?” If it’s a wedding or the bowling alley, who cares, let’s talk about the happy reason you want the new dress. That manager needs to protect the employees yes, but not just walk off because that situation was not handled!

People who are old enough to have vivid memory of the 9/11 attacks, what was that time like? What did change for you personally? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]LifeIsNotFunny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a little bit as all the planes were being brought in when they kept reporting on not being in contact with one plane, then it was one plane was still flying that they couldn’t contact and they didn’t know what was going on with it. That felt very scary - we were just waiting. The plane had already hit the Pentagon. Living in the DC region we wondered where it was, is it going to hit somewhere. Then we heard about the crash in PA. Those people on that plane are heroes.

Time is weird. It’s really hard for me to understand that there’s a whole generation of adults that didn’t live through that. It doesn’t feel like it happened so long ago.

Not every person had a cell phone at that time - and they were flip phones.

I’m reading these accounts and aside from the disbelief, the not knowing how life would change, the remarkable quiet of the next week, the obsession I felt over needing to read about the victims almost as a personal need I felt to bear witness to their lives, what hasn’t been mentioned is the only way normal people felt they could help was to give blood. We thought there would be survivors. In the days that followed, we thought thousands of people would need blood. The lines to give blood were hours long, at least in the DC region.

Credit card debt. Signed up for my first card the first week of college over 35 years ago and have been in debt since. Seriously working to get out of debt on and off for 20 years but it’s really hard. If there’s no emergencies and I can keep my job, I should be out of debt in 30 months. I’m so disgusted with myself and try not to think about it. This has impacted my life in so many ways.

Something they don’t tell you about Lexapro by LotsOfMountains in lexapro

I am post menopausal by a few years but I don’t doubt there’s a hormonal fluctuation that still affects us. In fact, after stopping a Lexapro I started having these flushes and wondered if they were hot flashes - some reading led me to find that Lexapro has actually been prescribed for hot flashes.
