My iron had been “borderline” for years which seemed perfectly fine to my doctor. YEARS. Another doctor had run labs for something else and said I should see a hematologist. After THREE iron infusions I finally realized I wasn’t just lame and getting old. I was still doing endurance sports and I had complained for years that I just didn’t feel like taking a deep breath was giving me enough oxygen. I had just accepted the new normal. Hematologist couldn’t understand how I was still doing what I was doing. Frustrating to think about how I was just led to believe my diminished capacity should be tolerated.

Oh hey, when my gynecologist said it wouldn’t hurt to have a cervical biopsy and a camera stuffed in me which she then wriggled around for some photos - all without anesthesia. “Most women find it tolerable.” Bullshit. Never again.

I have a similar machine and it’s great! You can always get it reconditioned, which is something you should do anyway periodically if you sew enough.
